Well Zack, you would have enough cap space to trade for him and not have to really send GS back anything at all if they wanted to clear space. We could even take on Beindress and Monta without sending them much back at all. Not sure GS would want to do this, nor do I think that sort of deal is going to turn us into contenders but it could be done with gobs of cap space!

Trade with Charlotte and Detroit
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMa...radeId=3gceqpe

Cleveland trades: Antawn Jamison, Ramon Sessions, and 2011 second
Cleveland obtains: Richard Hamilton, DeSagana Diop, 2011 first (DET), and 2011 second (DEN via DET)

Charlotte trades: Stephen Jackson, DeSagana Diop, and 2011 first (POR)
Charlotte obtains: Antawn Jamison and 2011 second (CLE)

Detroit trades: Richard Hamilton, 2011 first, and 2011 second (DEN)
Detroit obtains: Stephen Jackson, Ramon Sessions, and 2011 first (POR via CHA)

A note about the pick numbers:
2011 first (DET) #8
2011 first (POR) #19
2011 second (CLE) #32
2011 second (DEN) #52

Trading Jackson and Diop for Jamison saves Charlotte over $18.5 million dollars over the next two years. Your organization also saves a little bit more money by not paying a first round pick guaranteed salary. The second round pick is pretty high meaning you essentially move down 13 spots from #19 and clear salary. Jamison is also a high character guy capable of serving as your team leader while putting plenty of points on the board. That coupled with your #9 pick should give you some foundation moving forward.

This is just something I threw together pretty fast. You could swap other picks around here and there. Thoughts? I tried to make this as fair as I could for all teams involved.

Absolutely would.

We move back 13 positions to drop two contracts and acquire an expiring contract that will replace Jax on offense. Would prefer if Cleveland took Carroll or Najera in the process but it isn't necessary.

This deal doesn't happen unless it's changed; there's no way Detroit would bring in Stephen Jackson.

I'd think long and hard about that trade. If no picks were involved in our bit I'd definitely do it, likewise if the pick coming our way was a bit better.

Is 25ish million in savings worth trading Jack and a mid first? I think so
