The kid will sell tons of tickets, I don't see them taking Knight or Walker when they know they can get Jimmer at 15.

It's the Jazz. You never know what the f' they'll do in regards to the Draft.

 There's actually a pretty good chance they take a white guy if given the opportunity.

They've had 12 1st round picks in the last decade.

With those 12 picks they've drafted 5 white guys which is 42% (and that doesn't include Kris Humphries or Deron Williams  ), which is pretty large considering the league on the whole is 18% white.

@alanhahn: I asked Jimmer if he would have stayed in the draft last year if Knicks made first-round guarantee. Knicks didn't have a pick. #fb a minute ago

@alanhahn: Carmelo Anthony, who said he wanted to be involved in front office decisions, was in on the predraft workouts and addressed the players. 3 minutes ago

@alanhahn: Jimmer says Knicks and Jazz best fits for him, includes Suns. The kid is as polished as they come media-wise. 11 minutes ago

^Gallo was equally as posh with the Media as well. IF we get Jimmer, I can see the fans loving him like they did Gallo (after booing both on Draft Night of course). :D

Do you still think the Knicks are going to draft Justin Harper with the 17th pick?

There's no garuntee of that. He could go high (doubt it) or lower. A Team could also Trade Up to grab him (or another guy) and shake up the Draft Boards (happens EVERY Year).

From what I've read on the Jazz Board, they have NOT worked out any high profile names yet (only like 1-3 MAX). BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUT, they have worked out (and scheduled workouts for MANY guys who are in the 17-35 Range).

So, either they're looking to buy another lower Pick. OR, they have a Trade lined up for something in that Range.

They've been looking at 2-Guards A LOT too. :(

I REALLY love the Melo tweet. How awesome is that and where's the guy who was trying to say Melo only cares about endorsing his products on twitter and that he's not about winning? This is AGL!

On light-skinned-ness...if they end up taking Brandon Knight 3rd, it's quite possible that Klay Thompson will be their pick at 12. All the talk about the Jazz needing a PG the reality is that they also need a SG. Their starting SG this pass season was Raja Bell (who at 35 years old is coming off his worst statistical season since early in his career and is really more suited as a backup).

I agree Moo, and SG is one area they're targeting BIG TIME.

I can see them (the Jazz) go:

High Lotto Pick: PG (Knight or Walker)
Low Lotto Pick: SG (Thompson, or another guy like Brooks)
Buy or Trade for Low 1st Rounder/Early 2nd Rounder: Big Man Who Fell)

Their Board here on RGM (see the link above for what I'm referring to) thinks that something may be up with them (Utah).

@alanhahn: Thompson shot it very well from NBA 3. Said he made 20 of 25 in the shooting drills. Jimmer hit 19 of 25. 4 minutes ago

@alanhahn: Klay Thompson on Marshon Brooks : "He'd fit in well in New York because he's got that street game." 5 minutes ago

@alanhahn: Jimmer has three workouts left on his schedule: Kings, Jazz and Suns. He worked out for Pacers on Tuesday. 17 minutes ago

Interesting evaluation on team needs, but there's no way Utah is passing Jimmer up like that. After Deron going, they need to sell some semblance of hope to their fanbase - especially in what appears to be a lockout-shortened season next year where fans can lose interest, and the team loses significant revenue potential. Jimmer will be picked out of the sake of their ownership really.

Do you still think the Knicks are going to draft Justin Harper with the 17th pick?

With all the SG's shooting upwards draft-stock wise and considering Harper wouldn't be a starting candidate for us...no.

This takes nothing away from JHarper though. He's very skilled has a basketball pedigree due to his father, and he is a good kid who measured as expected at the combine and even surpasses expectations by boasting the second highest reps in the benchpress, only topped by Derrick Williams. Kid is skilled and STRONG. Just needs to play more aggressively with regards to his mentality. However, he's still in play if we can buy another pick (late first-rounder or early 2nd).

All signs point to us now drafting a SG who can hopefully compete against Fields, who's really a natural SF and possibly push him to a 6th man role. Or go for a PG who can be a backup to Billups and be groomed to possibly replace him if we can't get Chris Paul.
