phungk wrote:^ Dude, wtf? That plan makes no sense.

1. We trade the cornerstone of our offense, and the cornerstone of our defense? That seems like too much, especially for that package.
2. M. Brooks at #13? That's a bit of a reach if you ask me.
3. Hill is not going to stick around here to play with a bad team.
4. Ridnour is a back-up point guard, not starting material. Brooks would start in that scenario.
5. Perry Jones is a PF.

(1) You dont get talent without giving talent back, I like Gortat, I dont want to trade him... BUT sadly... he is actually the SUNS most valuable asset.... he is our Milsap but 6'11 version.
Look at Jazz, trading franchise PG in Deron to get a Future PF in Favors and pick No.3, and they get their No.12 also...

So they turned an ALL-Star PG, entering his PRIME for 3 top 15 picks that have the chance to be the NEW core for the Jazz for the next decade.
Sure, Deron was signalling he would leave, but Jazz had the balls to CUT their losses short and CASH IN and NOW their future LOOKS good.

(2) of course Marshon Brooks at No.13 is a stretch...but the payoff can be HUGE.... just think... maybe... this kid translate his college dominance to the NBA.... just think that for a second... he has crazy arsenal of scoring moves....

(3)Hill is 38 years old....

(4)Ridnour is short term, maybe trade deadline bait, and transition "PG", until the Suns can pick up in a trade or through the Draft.

(5) Perry Jones can be SF, but has size of PF.... Lamar Odom like.

Doesn't make sense for Minny though.

LMAO

Heck, Gortat is not worth No.2, for a pick, he is worth between a No.6 to No.10... again depending on the depth of the draft.

In this year's draft Gortat is worth the 1st overall pick. And I still wouldn't trade Gortat.

We have had garbage centers forever and we finally get a good one...not trading him. Gortat is a proven center. There's no guys in this year's draft that's a "guaranteed superstar."

Like I said before, any trade that doesn't involve Gortat or Dudley is fine by me. Nash, Lopez and #13 for Randolph, Flynn, Pekovic and #2? Great. They can keep their precious Michael Beasley.

I dare you to say that to anyone but Suns fans.... Gortat for No.1 pick.... talk about over rating.

In this year's draft, Gortat is probably worth No.6.... BUT... a big BUT... Suns desperation for a BIG banging center.... means he is worth much higher to the SUNS than another team not named Jazz.
He is a 12 point 10 rebound 2 block center..... solid very solid but no franchise...

Bogut is worth No.1 in this draft... but you wont trade Bogut, since he is still improving and already top 3 defensive centers in the league and much better than Gortat.

I certainly don't think #2 is to much for Gortat because I think Derek WIlliams is basically a less knuckleheaded version of Michael Beasley. Would you trade Gortat for Beasley? Noooo.

Derick Williams can become Beasley or a more athletic Antawn Jamison....

25ppg 8rpg (ceiling) or 15ppg 11rpg (ceiling)

I love Gortat, he fixes the Suns need for a center... but doesnt fix the Suns need for a new franchise player.

I'd be fine KEEPING Gortat... and just tanking this season... so atleast next season Suns have top 5 pick... to draft the next franchise player..

But Nash HAS to go this way... because as Ive mentioned he is too good to keep the Suns from winning 40 games and out of the top 5 picks.

Gambo squashed the #2 rumors but he said the interest in Flynn is real. A Wolves fan suggested #13 and Pietrus for Flynn and #20. I'd do it and draft Tyler.

I am not sure I like giving up the 13th pick and Pietrus for Flynn. But that would mean Aaron Brooks is gone so there goes that first round draft choice. I don't think Flynn has the value to warrant moving down 7 spots.

Aaron Brooks has no part of the Suns future. The trade was a mistake and picking up his option to try and justify it doesn't make sense. The Suns obviously see potential in Flynn who talented but played in Minnesota, lol. What PG has had sucess there? We unload Pietrus' 5 mil and move back and take Tyler... Just throwing it out there ha.

The idea of trading for Brooks was to use him as trade bait in the off-season (NOW).... the question is can the Suns trade Brooks on draft night? or wait until December?

If the Suns trade #13 for Flynn, I will burn down Babby's house.

It ain't a threat, its a promise.

I don't get why the Suns are suddenly interested in PGs that had fluke seasons the year before but now suck. First Aaron Brooks who had a fluke season and won MIP, then Flynn who had a fluke season in 09 as well and played decent.

Might as well trade for Brandon Jennings too then.

I don't think Gambo really knows much more than we do.

Flynns rookie season was no fluke. He took a step back in his sophomore season as he missed 28 games due to a nagging hip injury and struggled with the complexities of Kurt Rambis' triangle offense. When he came back from his sip injury, Ridnour was doing great in the triangle and took over the starting spot.

Same thing in Houston.

That seems kind of like a lateral move

So what, we S&T Brooks or what?

It would be ludicrous (but not surprising) if Brooks goes for nothing hence we GAVE UP A 1ST and DRAGIC for nothing...ugh

If we get Flynn, fine...but Brooks better be moved for something 'decent'...I wonder if SAC (with Dalembert a FA) would be interested in something like Brooks + Lopez for Thompson + 2nd rounder

I could get behind that -

as I read up on Flynn maybe I'm being unfair. He impressed the hell out of a lot of people. Maybe I only remember that he struggled last season. From what I know now I'd take him over Brooks

Markieff gets high marks in CHA

"If Kansas's Markieff Morris plays as well as he talks, he'll be a very good NBA player. Morris, on what it's like to audition for all-time great (and Bobcats owner) Jordan:

"I felt it when he came in the gym - I just felt his greatness. ... The lights brightened. And you can see they went down a little bit (in Jordan's absence). That brightness, you just feel it on your back."

Morris, a 6-9 power forward (and twin to Marcus Morris, another first-round candidate), might have been the best of the six players auditioned Thursday. Said Silas: "A very good shooter. He was tough and understands how to play the game. I think he has a chance to really be good."

One can only hope...

My low value picks draft team would be, based on DX.

C - Keith Benson #44
PF- Jeremy Tyler #38
SF- Chris Singleton #19
SG- Marshon Brooks #25
PG- Josh Selby #27

Tyler, Selby and Brooks are the ones I like much more though. Singleton and Benson are just on there because the other options aren't all that great either..

If I could add one top pick to that I would say Derrick Williams instead of Singleton or Biyombo instead of Benson.

Then it is pretty clear we will be selecting his brother...
