BB is michael ruffin 2.0-absolutely no offensive coordination two foot jumper. It will be like playing 4 on 5 every offensive possession. That's fine if we didn't have a player that does what BB does but even better with McGee.
Build your team w/5 shooters using P. Pierce Form deeply bent hips and lower back arch at same time b4 rising into shot. Elbow never pointing to the ground! Good teams have an engine player that shoot volume (2000 full season) at 50 percent.Large Hands

RT31 wrote:-This lack of experience shows up first and foremost on the defensive end, where Kanter was incredibly ineffective in the film we watched. His fundamentals, instincts and positioning leave a lot to be desired. He can often be found standing straight up in the paint with his arms down, putting in little to no effort. He rarely boxes out his opponent and generally looks disinterested in anything that has to do with defense. He rarely bends his knees and often fails to get back in transition--doing very little to protect the paint when he does.

ack, defensive liability. I know a lot of people are really high on Kanter, and Ginvoy is reviewing grainy footage from 2-3 years ago. but this is worrisome for me. last thing we need is another defensive liability in the front court.
(edited to add quote)
It's my deluded hope that Kanter is tanking his interviews with Cleveland, Minnesota and Utah because he has a guarantee with us and wants to play with Wall.
Making extreme statements like "only" sounds like there are "no" Jokics in this draft? Jokic is an engine that was drafted in the 2nd round. Always a chance to see diamond dropped by sloppy burgular after a theft.

From realGM wiretap:
I'd like to hear more on the workout if anyone finds info out there on the net. I still really think that Kanter is going to go top 3, and that we will regret it if we don't move up for him.
Edit: Yes, I do realize the above article looks to be solely based on a comment by Kanter's agent.
http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/214036/Kanter_Impresses_In_Workout_With_Cavs#ixzz1OhKeKIV7Turkish center Enes Kanter worked out for the Cavs on Tuesday at Cleveland Clinic Courts. His agent, Max Ergul, said he wasn't allowed to watch the proceedings.
"Judging by the huge grin on his face, Coach Byron Scott seemed very satisfied," Ergul said. "We exchanged some complimentary words."
Also on hand for the workout were Texas power forward Tristan Thompson (6-8 3/4, 228) and Kansas small forward Marcus Morris (6-8 3/4, 230). It was the second time Morris has worked out for the Cavs, which sparked rumors that they're trying to acquire another first-round pick.
The 6-11 1/4, 259-pound Kanter's workout and interview lasted at least 3 1/2 hours.
Some observers were surprised Kanter worked out against other draft prospects.
"He's never shied away from other competitors," Ergul said. "He gets bored working out by himself."

Yeah, I'm not feeling Biyombo. He seems similar to what we have in Seraphin. Big, Athletic, Defense, Rebounds, very limited offensive game. I'd rather stick with Seraphin.

Marcus (Mpls)
Do you think the TWolves will keep the 2nd pick or trade it?
Chad Ford (1:13 PM)
I think they trade. But they won't give the pick away. I think they're another possible destination for
Monta Ellis. I think they're also intrigued if they could swap No. 2 for JaVale McGee.
Adam (San Diego)
Chad, was wondering whether you heard anything regarding Kawhi Leonard's workout yesterday with the Wizards?
Chad Ford (1:24 PM)
He got great feedback from the Wizards. He's a very strong possibility at No. 6. So is Vesely if he's on the board. Valanciunas, Kanter also in the mix. I do think there's a chance of the Wizards moving up. The reports that they have been super active about it are bogus, but there are some in Washington that want to totally remake the roster around Wall. If they're are willing to move McGee (a big if) ... they could get into the Top 2.

Interview with JV:
http://basketball.realgm.com/article/21 ... alanciunas
I like his attitude about basketball being his purpose in life and not just a job. His physical growth reminds me of McGee in that he is a late bloomer who will probably end up around 6'10-6'10.5 w/o shoes with a 7'6 Wingspan and 9'4 standing reach. I think EG has given up on trading up and will focus on 1 of 3 scenerios: JV falls to us, Kanter falls to us, Knight/Walker falls to us.
Trade back under the Knight/Walker scenerio and look for future pick in doing so

Wow, I'd be pretty happy if it only cost us McGee....and not McGee + #6.

I don't know what your reasons are but I'd be very upset as well.

Re: Lather me with blather -- DRAFT thread 4
I would do it, but I think the 2nd pick would cost a little more. As much as I like Kanter and JV, if we had the 2nd and 6th pick, I'd probably go Derrick Williams and Biyumbo.

Re: Lather me with blather -- DRAFT thread 4
Chad Ford's latest mock has us taking Leonard at 6 and Marshon Brooks at 18.
I'm at work so I will post my thoughts on McGee for the 2nd pick later. But as of now I'm leaning towards yes on doing that trade if it were presented to us.

If the Wiz pick up Marshon Brooks I see little sense in bringing back Young unless it's for <4M per.

We would have to get much much more than the #2 pick in return for JaVale, NO to trading JaVale barring an offer we couldn't refuse which is unlikely.

Centers are very difficult to find and I would not want to give up on McGee at this point. Who do you replace him with? A small PF is much easier to find then a Center.

Is Derrick Williams even a small forward? Who is he going to guard? I hope this is hot air from Ford.

This is his mock 4.0?

Re: Lather me with blather -- DRAFT thread 4
OK, I have time now. Uhm, I would do it. It's one thing if it was McGee plus the 6th for the #2. It's another if it was a straight up swap.
At #2, we get Williams obviously. At #6, we go with Kanter or Biyombo, and at #18, we could go any which way, maybe one of the Morris Twins, maybe Klay Thompson who knows. The team will be extremely young, probably the youngest in the league but we'd get rid of the knuckleheads for sure, and maybe Flip won't have as much gray hair.
Then you factor in a hard cap. Can we afford to re-sign McGee?

Re: Lather me with blather -- DRAFT thread 4
I definitely appreciate the hesitancy to trade Javale, but... one thing you gotta keep in mind is that he could be a free agent after this season, and the Wiz are in no position to give him an extension this offseason - for 2 reasons - 1. no CBA, and 2. His value is up in the air. He'd probably want to hold off signing anyway, because he can increase his value $ubstantially. We could end up losing him for nothing, which could be a disaster.

Plus, if we don't re-sing McGee, we'd have more cap room next year to add a major free agent.
