that's an interesting bit of info. but more importantly, i never realized how much larry david looks like larry brown. he should play him in the made for hbo telemovie.

I went with Selby. But I would be ok with a lot of guys. But i think Selby arguably the best upside and I think Donnie wants to hit a home run and Selby has the most potential and with Billups, Melo, and Amare he'll get the best chance to succeed but again there's a lot of guys that I would be ok with drafting.
I just saw Jimmer on the list and he's the other guy at the top but I won't see him falling to 17 but maybe we'll move up and from some reports it looks like we are trying to.

haha yeah, that's one of the reasons I included his write-up even though I'm not as high on him as some others here. also:

Next Five In: Tyler Honeycutt, G, UCLA; Nolan Smith, G, Duke; Darius Morris, PG, Michigan; Jordan Williams, F/C, Maryland; Lucas Nogueira, C, Brazil

If that's how the top of the second round looks, we definitely need to buy two early seconds to nab some guys. Coming away with Darius Morris + Brooks/Klay + Lucas would be like Christmas in June lol.

Anywho, I voted for Selby.

yeah, I think we've established that the majority of the board wants Jimmer in the last two polls. it'd be nice to see who's the next consensus pick. also, I guess all the shumpert talk was for him as a second rounder? and how about darius morris (although also a possible second rounder).

Shumpert, Darius, and Jenkins are not worth the 17th pick IMO. If all our targets are gone somehow and we're hell bent on getting a guard, then I could see us trading down and nabbing one of them. Reggie Jackson has 17th pick talent to me, but his injury has hurt his stock so hed be my choice if we were trading down to get.

Imagine a Reggie Jackson / Marshon Brooks back court?

7' wingspan and a 7'1 wingspan at our GUARD positions?!?!?!? DAMN. Ha.

If the draft goes anything like that mock... I'm trading up. I'm not high on Selby.

ONLY if we can lockup a SG/SF type at #17 would I consider such a Trade. A Jimmer-Fields backcourt for the Suns would be DEADLY IMO, and no reason AT ALL should we help them.

With so few bigs in this draft I just can't see Biyombo slipping that far . I think they make so many mock drafts just to mix things up, get people talking and clicking on the links.

Its usually the last mock draft the day or day before the draft that is the best one.

But it seems like its between Selby, Brooks and possibly Faried. I doubt our other targets will be there.

Unless we pull someone out of left field.

Walsh's last draft. If he has final say, I wonder if he'll just swing for the fences? Grunwald seems like a guy that will swing for the fences too. And Isiah may have a little say.

Out of those options Selby may very well be our pick.

Either way, I'm really bummed there's no summer league. The hype would have been crazy

I'm not trading Fields for Lopez..... I'd rather Buy and early second and get a center there. Lopez does absolutely nothing for me and is already having back problems. I'd would much rather take Vucecic (sp?), williams or Tyler buy buying a pick.

I really doubt we move TD in a trade up in this draft, besides which I dont see Houston needing him.
I definitely dont see it happening with Landry.

A guy like Jimmer is a very intriguing prospect and more so for this team than most.

Our team is obviously built around Amare and Carmelo and their scoring. We need a team that can keep defenses honest. This is partially why Fields has suffered. Gallo kept the defense honest and Landry could roam. With Carmelo and Amare you need an outside shooter to spread the defense or they will take away the middle and Amare and Melo become jump shooters only.

Jimmer is a threat from the halfcourt line. Hes more so than Douglas or Williams or Walker IMO. More so even than Reddick probably.

Im a fan but we need a BU point with some experience and we need a SG who has a high IQ so neither Fields nor Douglas should be moved for him IMO

Sure but that was a couple of years ago before the back issues. Then he ended up losing his job. To me Lopez is at his ceiling and if injuries take a toll he could regress rather quickly. Whereas one of the other players I mentioned could pay big rewards especially Tyler.

Think about it again NLR? Then think back to the Boston series? TD was turrible.... fredette would have opened things up so much even as a rookie. If it guaranteed getting Fredette I would trade Douglas in a heartbeat.... Fields ehhhhh.... not so much. I haven't soured on Fields yet. He spoiled people. He was good quick and fans started overhyping him and then he came crashing down (mostly because of the rookie wall). I love Fields coming off the bench for Melo and being out there with Amar'e.

Honestly ,

My main targets in this draft is Donatas Motiejunas and Jimmer Fredette .

two reasons , Jimmer has the tools to be a good pg , many compare him to mike bibby in his prime and we all know he was a good player. Jimmer jumpshot is something we dont have to worry about transferring over to the nba. He has great handles. He has a high IQ. Defense is his weakness , but his shooting is our biggest need. With Stat and Melo getting doubled , you need to have a consistant 3 point threat. no matter what. Dont tell me Douglas is that guy , douglas handle is shaky , he cant create , his shot selection is beyond me , his point guard skills are horrible. But he does play defense , Douglas is decent but very replacable , i wont miss him. His jumpshot is shaky as well ( referring to the way he shoots the ball). Douglas isnt athletic either , so it isnt like he has that over Jimmer. You do what you have to do to get jimmer.

Douglas + 17 for Houston's 14 , Draft Jimmer
or
Walker+17+ 2 Million for Houston's 14 and Terrance Williams ( Value is low But be a good spark off the bench)

As for Donatas Motiejunas

All Mock draft have him going in the 20s , possible due to the buyout of his contract. Well hello Dolan , you have some use now.

Below are 3 picks we should target some how , all teams owe us
Wovles handed them AR and Darko
Houston , Jordan Hill and multiple picks
Dallas , Corey Brewer for fee

Wolves 20
Houston 23
Dallas 26

Donatas Motiejunas

Is a stretch four , with great potential , he is a legit 7 footer , his upside is amazing when you think about it. If anything , Poor man Gallo ? or potential Lamar Odom. Draft net comparing him to Dirk and Gasol

He has a good shot
He can handle the ball well for his size
Baby Hook
Nice fadaway J
He is a good passer.
All while being 7 foot , If anything he another guy that will be a steal at this point.

Purchase 2 of lakers 2nd round picks , Package Douglas , 2 2nd round picks , cash for 20th select Donatas Motiejunas

Im not saying these are the best realistic proposal , it is just a thought.

My two targets

Jimmer Fredette 6'2 Point Guard
Donatas Motiejunas 7'0 Power Forward/Center/ Small Forward

Agree 110% with everything you said. Fields needs to stay , he only makes 500,000 anyways , why trade him ? He was a 2nd round pick , Steal of the draft. Douglas can go , but Jimmer is needed

cool, it will be interesting to see who wins out between klay, brooks and selby.

also, the adidas eurocamp will be this weekend. does anyone know if it will be televised and what channel? guys of interest should be donatas, biyombo and lucas. not sure how many will work out but biyombo is. the measurements should be informative at least.
