Stevenson: "LeBron checked out"/SAS: LBJ personal issues?

Post#1 » by Miamis3rdRing » Wed Jun 8, 2011 7:04 pm

"He just sat backed and watched, which was good for us and obviously a bad deal for Miami" "He just checked out" said Stevenson when asked about Lebron. Stevenson even says himself that his defense had nothing to do with it.

Edit:

Some people on the GB are claiming that Stephen A. Smith said LeBron is dealing with some "personal issues" right now.

I haven't seen any credible sources, but if you search "Stephen A. Smith" or "LeBron personal issues" on Twitter some tweets have been recently posted.

just heard @stephenasmith say LeBron's poor performance was due to personal issues similar to ones he's experienced in the recent past

People will believe anything nowadays. Stephen A Smith HIMSELF hasn't even confirmed this.

Wade needs to sit down with Lebron if that's the case. Cut the bull, we need Lebron to score minimum 25 points next game.

This is not a new "issue". It has been discussed all along that neither of these guys knows what to do with themselves when they aren't the primary scoring option. If we decide to feed Lebron instead of Wade in game 5 ... Lebron will go off and Wade will struggle to some extent.

Neither of these guys is Jordan, and neither is Pippen. We just need to play a little better as a team so we can pull these games out and it won't matter what any one guy did during the game or the series.

I don't think any of this crap is true because Lebron was feeding Wade on some great passes, but I did discuss this past offseason, hypothetically speaking, if Lebron checked out on us like he did to Cleveland against the Celtics, all we would need from Lebron is to play average to win and that's still better than anything Wade got from the scrubs last year.

If Lebron had an average game yesterday we would have won.

And sorry, Lebron was clearly frustrated with the no calls yesterday, if he "checked out" he wouldn't have given a **** to even grab a single rebound or the no calls. Not to mention Pittman said it himself Lebron was completely focus and ready to explode, he just had a really bad, fluke off night. He will get it together.

i Have not a clue why LeBron played that way last night but last year he followed up game 5 vs Boston with a good game 6. I wouldn't worry about LeBron the rest of the series. I just hope that Wade can keep playing this well.

My only guess is that he was so embarrassed about the flop in Q1 that it impacted his play. He makes some of the most amazing plays so it is hard to understand what he was thinking with that flop. He needs to make sure there is at least some real contact like he did vs the Bulls

Dude has the first single-digit playoff game of his career and worst playoff performance as well, and people want to write him off and question him. Wade had an entire series of playing like ass, and didn't face this kind of scrutiny. Although everyone wondered if he was injured or something, no one was ready to blame him for the downfall of the team, or call him a quitter.

I think we should accept that this is what Bron's bad games look like. Someone like Bosh will have a 1-18 night, or Wade will have a night where he jacks up wild shots. Bron, apparently, has nights where he's just detached from the action. In Game5 against Philly, I remember thinking he did a good disappearing act. In the first half, he only had like 2 points and 2 boards. He'll just disappear into the background some games, but I don't think it signals a larger problem.

I do think this should put to rest the argument that he quit on the Cavs. This is not the first time he's been anonymous in this playoffs, much less this season. So maybe Cleveland fans just never took notice of how he played during the halcyon days, but it seems this is what happens when he has a bad game.

Amazing that his bad games is still a good game for most players. 8 points sounds bad, but not so much with 6 boards and 7 dimes. Then again, that came in 46 minutes. Ouch. PEACE.

That's because we were winning and Wade still had his moments in every game.

This is ridiculous. Why can't a guy just have a bad game? Lebron is the only person that not only gets criticized for having a bad game (which he deserves) but also the type of bad game it was. He has to be bad a certain way or we get all these other conspiracy theories about it

Time to move on. Just one game in a series and we're not even down.
