Jazz / Warriors swap

Post#1 » by sendai91 » Sun Jun 5, 2011 11:02 pm

Pretty simple trade here - would the Jazz go far swapping the Warriors #11 pick in this draft for giving to Golden State back the rights to their pick next year that we own?

Why it works for the Jazz - a lot of players the Jazz like could be available there ( Singleton, Leonard and Jimmer come immediately to mind) that could fill holes on the roster. The GSW pick won't be any higher than 7th next year anyway.

Why it doesn't work - next year's draft is considerably deeper than this year's is, and having the pick as a trade chip at least is smart positioning. Also 3 rookies from the top 13 means it gets tough affording all 3 ( in addition to Hayward and Favors from last year) once extensions come up..

Not a chance.

Next years draft is going to be loaded so any lottery pick (or potential lottery pick) is going to be worth a lot more.

No change of this happening The Jazz would not want 3 unison rookie contract that are garenteed for three years. They will want to spread it out alittle.

I don't want this trade or a tank year.

If the Jazz play their cards right they could fill out a starting lineup w the kind of prospects you like see coming off the bus in just a matter of being purepuke last year, which i may term last year, and still have the veterans to keep the team relevant so that playoff talk is not one sided speculation on which jazz get left out: an unacceptable concept to this fan, but I still have some worries.
My biggest worry is team chemsitry, which draftpicks and trades may alleviate, the second is Coach Ty, I think that while the CBA may help coach to prepare himself it will be equally hard on the players especially any rookies to have time off, also, the way the roster is right now team chemistry is an issue i don't see a player on the jazz who can take over floor leadership responsibilities, because Ty i think is going to be a new kind of coach who will have to learn from his players as well, not a slow learner but one who should look to delegate the responsibilities the players have to eachother, but without a strong floor leader for him, this could be how the team falls apart internally.
