6.5 for rebounding. This team needs rebounding.

have you seen anthony in the playoffs. he is amazing at meeting his man that he is defending at the rim. his timing is incredible. biyombo from what we have seen is not on the same caliber. joel is doing it against the likes of nowitski and chandler who very infrequently get blocked.

Im not saying his timing is bad. its obviously good by looking at stats alone and the clips that we have of him.

I realize that Anthony is playing well in the playoffs, but I think Biyombo's defensive potential is off the chart

I think this Eurocamp and individual euro workouts are going to tell the GM's a lot with regards to the players future value. Right now I'm completely sold on Biyombo's defensive abilities and see no reason why they won't translate. But will GM's and scouts see enough offensive potential to at least not become a liability on the court and hopefully the workouts help there.

Same thing for Val. Givony is adamant that if you watch this guy practice and workout he can show you a hell of a lot more offensively than he is allowed to show on court for his pro team. Both of these big men are proven work horses defensively who are limited to very few touches offensively because their are better options right now on their pro teams.

We'll see but I'm far happier being able to assess a big mans defensive capabilities from a body of in game work and then assessing offensive potential through workouts than I am the other way round. Kanter, I'm looking at you.

Vesely: You're looking at a high-level athlete. I hate to compare him to Tom Chambers, who is probably beloved in the state of Utah, but he's got that Tom Chambers flair about him. … This kid, what he is is, he's a very good athlete who plays with high energy. His skill level is not up to where his NBA athleticism is yet. And, at worst, he's like a Shawn Marion, Kirilenko-type, where you don't have to run plays for him, he'll just find plays to grab rebounds, get on the break and get some dunks, lobs behind the defense — he's what I call an energy guy. He's more of a power forward than he is a small forward. But quite frankly, in this draft, he might be among the big guys the best defensive prospect in the draft. The only guy I might say that would compare to him is Chris Singleton from Florida State. This kid can guard threes and fours in the NBA because of his athleticism. He's not going to give you a lot of offense early, but he's an energy player.

I've heard both sides of the argument where some say although he's athletic his lateral quickness is terrible to guard 3's, and have also heard how he has potential to be a good defender because of his athleticism and motor. IF he can become a good defender though, he's very intriguing.

I'd rather just take Singleton if that's what we want... and we could get Singleton in the mid-teens instead of getting this guy in the top 10.

Hell no to Vesely!!!!!!

No way I wanna clog up our SF position with next year's draft for a wanna be AK47.

I'll be sooooo pissed if BC uses our pick on him and will seriously just give up being a Rap fan.

Can anyone say with certainty that Vesely will be better than JJ.?At anything?

No? Then why the hell would BC consider him.? I'm not worried (well, maybe a little).

I don't think there is any chance Colangelo is taking Vesely. While the "smokescreen" comment is certainly overused around these parts, the Raptors are definitely pumping Vesely with the hope that Utah or Cleveland take him, leaving Knight or Kanter. Vesely is **** horrendous.

I think the consensus in this board is that we don't want to draft a project SF

We're taking BPA... we're taking Walker (crosses fingers).

I may be in the minority but I think i'd rather take Jimmer over Walker at this time.

I'm not even sure if I'd take Williams over the any of Gilchrist/Miller/Barnes/P.Jones...and they may not even be the highest ranked prospects in the 2012 class, so you could potentially get one of them in the latter half of the lottery. This draft just doesn't look very talented at that position.

So Valanciunas won't be at the Eurocamp in Treviso... does that mean teams won't be able to work him out before the draft?

Also appears that Vesely will not take part in any workouts, and will only get measured on June 17th. That would mean that the only international prospects that BC has mentioned in his interviews that we'll get to see in a workout setting are Kanter/Biyombo/Motiejunas.

I'm pretty sure I read in the Kanter thread that he's out of the draft.

Edit: Some poster just said without any source or anything so maybe not.

I'll refer you to the Donatas Motiejunas Bandwagon thread for reasons why we would be interested, but BC did mention him in one of his interviews.
