I think we should go hard at #3 or #2 pick.

Point Guard this year?

Well, I just took a look at this: http://www.draftexpress.com/nba-mock-draft/2012/

And the options for point guards in next years draft are pretty slim. Although it is kind of cool that the highest rated PG is a Canadian (Myck Kabonga at 14).

After Myck there is only one more PG in the first round (Marquis Teague at 21).

Both seems to need a lot of improvement. Given this maybe it does make sense to grab one of the top 3 PGs from this years draft if one is available at 5.

next year has three great PG prospects in Kabongo, Teague, and Wroten. I think all three are below Kyrie, but ahead of the other PG prospects in this draft. All are certainly better playmakers imo.

While this is true, it's obvious that the gap between this years SF crop and next years is much greater than the PGs.

I watched highlights of Kabongo, and I've never seen a PG use so many unnecessary dribbles and movement. Not impressed at all.

This is coming from a Brandon Knight bandwagoner. The guy has 0 point guard skills at all.

Yep, that's certainly true as well. I'd take Gilchrist, Miller, Barnes, or P.Jones over any SFs in this draft. And there's still other decent SF prospects in Adonis Thomas, LeBryan Nash, and Terrence Jones.

His dribbles are nonsensical.

Ridiculously unnecessary.

I don't see a scouting report. Just an opinion. Sometimes a bit of flash is good.

Far from a finished product.

I personally think having the #3 pick is better than having the 2nd pick, not only because of the salary differences but also because the talent difference is marginal

No Valanciunas or Vesely, but Biyombo and Donut will be working out.

Yes, let's reference a video showing Myck playing in a camp game that he is clearly not taking 100% seriously.

Show me some Findlay Prep videos where he's playing that flashy.

Chad Ford has an update on the International workouts:

http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/blog?name=nba_draft

Nothing groundbreaking, but a few bullet points:

- One NBA scout thinks Jan Vesely is as close to a sure thing as you'll get out of Europe, and the Cavs, Raptors and Wizards are high on him
- Biyombo worked out for us, but Ford didn't really have any information on it. He says he'll see Biyombo first-hand on Saturday.
- Teams are anxious about Valanciunas's buyout situation and if it isn't resolved soon, he'll slide in the draft. But he doesn't expect Jonas to withdraw. He says the Rockets at 14 are his floor.
- Nikola Mirotic, however, might withdraw from the draft

Sounds like Vesely may be off the board. If Vesely turns out to be Tom Chamber, Poor man Josh Smith, SF Joaquim Noahish I would be pissed!!! But still that would mean Knight drops to us which would great.

Heck if Kanter and Vesely go early, Williams or Irving may drop to us which would be very nice.
