NBAdraft.net's Latest Mock Draft

Post#1 » by TrickyUT » Fri Jun 10, 2011 6:24 pm

Should I be more excited about the possibility of Irving slipping to us at #3? I think I'd be more pumped if we got Williams or Kanter?

I think there is a better chance of Williams falling to us than Irving. I actually prefer Williams over Irving, but either one would be fine. The reviews on Kanter and Knight are very good as well so the Jazz pick at #3 going to be a very good player. The key to a great draft might be who they pick at #12.

I usually like NBADraft.net's mocks, but are they drunk.

No way Cleveland selects Kanter #1 ahead of Irving. If they want Kanter so bad, why would they take him #1 when there's a legit possibility he's available at #4?

And they also have Biyombo falling all the way to #19 and Valanciunas and Lucas Noriega are no where to be found on there mocks, even though they both declared and there have been no rumors about them pulling out.

I'm really starting to question there credibility.

I'd lol if caves don't end up with either Irving or Williams, won't happen.

This is nbadraft.net we're talking about. Maybe they let Calipari do this mock.

I can't believe NBADraft.net has any credibility anymore, I guess Valanciunas will be an undrafted player! [/sarcasm]

Well, with the price of his buyout still a big question mark (rumored to be as high as 3 million) nbadraft appears to be thinking that Valanciunas is going to withdraw his name on Monday.

It's definitely possible. They also took Harrison Barnes off their mock before he confirmed and they were right about that.

As dumb as nbadraft.net seems, this brings up an interesting possibility. If Cleveland falls in love with A)Kanter or B)Knight...this scenario could play out.

I know all indications are that the Cavs will take Irving, but certainly crazier things have happened in the draft. If someone gave me 10-1 odds, I'd thrown down a $20 bet that the Jazz end up with Irving. Irving could underwhelm the Cavs, and Knight could blow them away.

I understand Irving is not working out for anybody but Cleveland. If that is the case he must have been promised #1. If they aren't taking him at #1 he better hit the road and work out for other teams because nobody will use a high pick on somebody they haven't talked to.

Even if Irving falls to #2, Minnesota will snatch him up.

Even with Ricky Rubio in the books, they can use Kyrie or Ricky as a good trade bait.

I don't think there's anyway MinniMe would take a pg, but if it is possible for MinniMe to screw up the draft for the Jazz then they take Kanter #2 and hold us hostage if that is who we want, or MinniMe does the sensible thing and takes Dwill.2, who I think has PaulPierce type ability/upside. But, I think Kahn would see the guilitione if he took a pg there as he wouldn't be missing his head in that case.

#1 or 2 would get Irving to atleast trade him. He's ranked #1 through most mock drafts and experts, how the hell is he gonna drop to #3, especially when Cleveland is basically starting from scratch.

nbadraft.net has already realized how unlikely that situation is.

Kyrie's back at #1, with Utah taking Knight at 3, and Leonard at 12.

I could live with that draft.
