Post#1 » by myrak433 » Fri Jun 10, 2011 6:58 pm

what would it take from the Hawks to get Varejao? Does Atlanta Have anything that would make a trade possiable? if not what would the Cavaliers what in return? maybe we could work out a three way.

Nothing that you would want to give up. It certainly would require a third team to get Andy to Atl. I hear Minny wants a few vets but I doubt they would take on Joe Johnsons salary and have no need for Josh Smith currently. That would eliminate a #2 for #4 and Andy with Atl acting as intermediary with Johnson going to Minny. I believe Minny would be more interested in Andy over Johnson anyway.

would cleveland take a 2011 1st for Varejao? if so how low would the pick have to be? or would cleveland give the 4th pick and Varejao for Danny Granger and the 15th pick? with Varejao going to Atlanta and the 4th pick and marvin williams going to Indiana.

Not real interested in Granger. If you want to bring another team in & start offering 2012 picks we might listen.

Not a real big Danny Granger fan currently.

FYI about Varejao's contract:

A Closer Look at Anderson Varejao’s New Contract: Not Nearly As Bad As it Seems

Everywhere you turned to in the media after the Cavs re-signed Anderson Varejao, you heard the same thing: “Six years? Fifty million? Anderson Varejao?”

Yet another example of the media not telling the entire story.

The 6′10″, 260-pound Brazilian big man would have made about $6.2 million for next season had he picked up his player option. With the new deal, he’ll make nearly the same: $6.3 million. He will get pay raises of about $700,000 each year, meaning his salary for the 2010-11 season will be $7 million. It goes all the way to $9.1 million for the 2013-14 season, the fifth year in the deal, when Anderson will be 31-years old and still in the prime of his career.

However, reporting this as a six-year, $50 million deal would be erroneous. The Cavs hold a team option for that sixth season for up to $9.8 million.
