It is when you can match his production easily with a draft pick vs overpaying him to stay.

The whole problem with Ray is that he thought that he was better than he was. Why do you think New York parted with him so easily. I am almost sure that when his deal is up Denver will not resign him unless it is for a bargain deal.

Here's another crazy idea of mine...
Charlotte gives Gerald Henderson, Tyrus Thomas, Eddie Najera, and 1.9 trade exception
Charlotte gets Robin Lopez and Kevin Martin

Phoenix gives Robin Lopez and Hakim Warrick
Phoenix gets Tyrus Thomas and 1.9 TE.

Houston gives Kevin Martin
Houston gets Gerald Henderson, Eddie Najera, and Hakim Warrick.

Deal? If not would would you add or take away?

Hell. No.

I want no part of either Lopez brother and Kevin Martin + Stephen Jackson would result in a fight.

Here's something I could get behind if we're going for the three team angle.

CHA: Chris Kaman, Nate Robinson, Clippers 2011 37th pick
OKC: Livingston, Clippers 2011 47th pick
LAC: Diaw, Diop, Bobcats 2011 9th pick, Bobcats future 2nd rounder or cash

I would take away that bong you've been smoking while you play with the trade machine.

I like Zack's trade better. I don't get why you think either guy would be that immature at this stage in their careers. You think it would be a better idea to give away nine million in expiring salary and a top 10 lottery pick for an injury prone center obviously on the down side of his career, a 5'9 guy who thinks he is AI, and a second round pick? The only thing I dislike about Zack's trade is our taking on Robin. If we were to give up Tyrus in a trade for Kevin Martin then my number one draft desire would become Bismack.

Chris Kaman + Nate Robinson = nearly $17m in expiring salary.
Boris Diaw = $9m expiring salary.
Livingston = $3.5m expiring if we take the team option next year.
Diop = under contract through 2013.

The ninth pick is this draft would be a mid-teen's / early 20's in most drafts.

Robinson is an upgrade over Livingston and even if Kaman can only play 50-60 games, that's better than what we have had in a while. Trading Diop frees a roster spot and dumping Diaw frees playing time for Tyrus, DJ White, and Cunningham if he returns next year.
