Do you think Wade can wins FMVP regardless of outcome? Do you think he can actually outperform the rest of the team combined?

no, Finals MVP always go to the winner if I'm not mistaken

and those are stats sure, but the guy who keeps scoring the game winners and last X amount amounts for their team would have a higher possibility of getting the MVP because WINS only matter at this time.

Dirk will win Finals MVP if the Mavs win the series. Wade is putting up incredible numbers, but Dirk's aren't shabby either (BTW, f*** Dirk). Like 'DefenseWins' said, wins are what matters at this point.

It wouldn't surprise me if Wade outperforms the team. It seems that he and Mario Chalmers are the only ones that have stepped up their game in the Finals. Everyone else has gone downhill. SOMEBODY PLEASE STEP UP!!!

Not if you're Jerry West but yeah, if the Mavericks win they will give it to Dirk no doubt.

As great as Wade has been, if the Mavs win then Dirk would clearly deserve it.

I think Jerry West won a finals MVP on a losing team before.

LeBron = 11 points total in the 4th quarters of this series. After 5 points in game one, Lebron just has 6 points total in the last 4 games in the 4th quarters... a point and a half per game is LeBron "King" James' offensive output in the deciding 4th quarters. Pathetic.

Bosh shot just 1/7 in the 2nd half of game 4 .. and Bosh shot just 1/3 in the 2nd half of game 5. A combined 2/10 shooting for Bosh in the 48 minutes of the 2nd halves of Game's 4 and 5. Pathetic.

Wade had 10 points and 3 assists in the 4th quarter of Game 5 and where was everybody else?? missing shots is where they were. Meanwhile Dirk is getting loads of help from his teammates (Terry, Kidd, Marion , Chandler etc) making shots late. And of course, Wade's defense in the 4th quarters has been superb, while Lebron's defense has been garbage in the 4th quarters allowing Terry or anyone he's covering to drive in freely to the lane or shoot over the top of him repeatedly. Bosh's defense has been garbage late in games as well.

yes I think it's safe to say that Wade is getting no help and has been pretty much on his own in 2nd halves. Yet the games are tight within 2 points with 2 minutes remaining, and they were on the road to boot. It's incredible what Wade is doing with such little help.

Without Wade's astonishing play, with his ridiculous 40 PER in these Finals (Dirk is at 26), the Heat would have lost this series already with how everyone else disappears in the 4th quarters and 2nd halves.

Dirk would still win it if the Mavs win no question. Not only has he been great this series, he's also benefited a lot from the hate the Heat constantly get. There are David and Goliath undertones of Dirk taking down the big 3 and the "good guy" finally getting his ring undergoing a harrowing flu sickness to get it......etc.

That being said, as good as Dirk has been, he is actually getting MORE help than Wade, Terry/Marion/Barrea etc have given him a huge lift, while Lebron/Bosh have been inconsistent, but it will be spun by the media you can bet. Wade has been the more spectacular player, its just that Dirk ironically is getting more help.

I picked up a Sports Illustrated yesterday and saw the cover with Dirk/Wade. The title was "Dirk Nowitzski and Dwyane Wade the game within the game". Thinking it would be an article between the duel between the two I skipped to the article. It was pretty much an article glorifying how unstoppable Dirk is and how futile the Heat have been to stop him. I should have clued in looking at the cover, when they showed Wade from the back (you can see the back of his jersey)trying to block Dirks' shot attempt.

If we were up 3-2 you can bet the article would be about how Wade is having one of the best finals of all time. I believe we will win the series though.

West was the first recipient of the Finals MVP award and the only one to ever win it on a losing team. Hasn't happened in the 42 years since. Doubt it ever will again.

he had a chance to tie the game with 2 clutch free throws.....a finals mvp doesnt miss the clutch free throw that would tie a game....no way he gets it if they lose

pretty stupid comment.

I don't suppose an MVP misses the clutch go ahead/tie shot on the buzzer either.

MVP will go to the winning team. simple as.

Dirk had a chance to tie game 3 with a clutch jumpshot... a Finals MVP doesn't miss that jumpshot.
