Is Minnesota really looking to dump Beasley and Flynn for expirings?

Anyway, I'm definitely on board with that trade.

EDIT: Except I hate your draft choices. NO to Kawhi. And NO to Biyombo at 5.

It's a new idea for me with the draft choices (obviously am on the Knight bandwagon).

My reasoning is that both Kawhi and Bismack are projected to be great defenders, and could potentially drastically alter how our team plays defense.

I know it's not what everyone else is thinking but I was dreaming about it today and it is really growing on me.

I don't want to turn this into a draft thread, but we need to be thinking BPA instead of fit. I agree we need defense at both those positions, but there are better players available at both 5 (Knight/Kemba/Val/Kanter) and 9 (Val/Biyombo/Burks/Vesely)

Based on the thread you posted on the trade board, as I expected, Wolves' fans aren't impressed with trading away Beasley. But then again Kahn is their GM, so you never know!

Minny gets Calderon, Barbosa, Alabi, #5 (Burks)
Toronto gets #2 (DWill), Flynn, Pekovic, Ridnour

Milicic/Alabi
Love/Randolph/Tolliver
Beasley/Webster/Hayward
Johnson/Barbosa/Burks/Ellington
Rubio/Calderon/Barbosa

Detroit gets Bargnani, Pekovic, Kleiza, Ed Davis
Toronto gets Hamilton, Villanueva, Maxiell, Monroe, #8 (Biyombo)

Detroit offloads 3 deadweight contracts for 3 cheaper, younger, longer, more useful contracts at the cost of #8 in a weak draft and swapping Monroe for Davis.

Bargnani/Pekovic/Wilcox
Davis/Kleiza/Wilcox
Prince/Daye
McGrady/Gordon
Stuckey/Bynum

Resign Dorsey, Evans, Weems

Monroe/Biyombo/Dorsey
Amir/Evans/Villanueva/Maxiell
DWill/JJohnson
DD/Hamilton/Weems
Bayless/Flynn/Ridnour

Use amnesty on Villanueva
BC uses his magic to find buyers for Maxiell and Ridnour

Assuming we land Knight/Walker (or if we happen to trade for a young PG), what about Jose for Diop+#19?

We open up 1.45 million in capspace this summer (bringing us to 8.8 million in capspace), and we could potentially use the pick on the guy that DX has at #19 now--Chris Singleton, who would be a great glue-guy/lockdown wing defender prospect imo (or perhaps we use the pick on a project big like Nogueira/Tyler, or one of the best scoring wing prospects in Bertans).

The capspace difference is also 3 million heading into the final year of both their deals, which is nice as well.

I doubt Detroit parts with Monroe and the 8th pick for that package. I would be choked big time if I was a Pistons fan.

How about:

To Charlotte: Jose Calderon + Solomon Alabi

To Toronto: DeSagana Diop + Matt Carroll + #9

Charlotte dumps some disgusting contracts (with players they don't use) for the PG they almost traded for last year and a project Center.

OR

To Charlotte: Leandro Barbosa or TPE

To Toronto: DeSagana Diop + #9

I dunno, i feel like BC will maintain the grudge against Jordan after the Calderon/Chandler fiasco. Still kind of bitter about that, but glad that Chandler has been able to go this deep in the playoffs because of it

I was thinking something like

To TOR: Diop + Carroll + Ebanks + #19 (CHA)
To CHA: Walton + Barnes + GSW 2nd (LAL)
To LAL: Calderon

Knight / Bayless
Derozan / Brooks (#19) / Carroll
Johnson / Klezia / Ebanks
Davis / Amir / Diop
Bargnani / C(FA) / Alabi

* I'm assuming Barbosa opts out. Fixes 3 point shooting which is one area he wanted to address

Here's one proposed by a Kings fan. I think I might do this depending on what other offers are available for Jose, who's available at #5, and who it is we want from this draft. I'd strongly consider this if the first 4 picks are some combination of Kyrie/Williams/Knight/Kanter.

Jose+#5 for Beno+#7.

After factoring in the salary difference between #5 and #7, as well as the difference between Jose and Beno's salaries, we open up an additional 3.4million in capspace, bringing our potential capspace up to about 10.8 million--a solid amount that lets us legitimately pursue some good young players if we choose to do so. We also ensure that either Bayless (or a new PG, if we draft one) get the minutes and opportunity they deserve. Moving down two spots, there's a pretty good chance we land the same player we'd want at #5 as well (neither team is likely to take Kemba imo, and will probably take one or both of Vesely/Leonard, with a slim chance that one, but probably not both of the remaining C's get taken as well).

What does everyone think of this?

To TOR: Bell + #3
To UTA: TE + #5 + Cash

Utah saves money and moves down to take Knight/Walker

Toronto moves up to take Kanter who Doug said they love

To TOR: Jennings + Maggette + Andersen
To DEN: Ersan + Calderon
To MIL: Felton + Bargnani

* Add Barbosa for TE(Melo) if Barbosa doesn't opt out, gives them a replacement for JR?

* maybe MIL sends a future pick to DEN? Like a 2012 lotto protected 1st. Because they give up the worst contract get an expiring in Felton and Bargnani = Jennings IMO contracts aside.

Toronto gets a young PG and a shot blocker off the bench

Denver gets a young PF in Ersan who would be a nice fit with Nene and Andersens contract runs 2 more years than Calderon making the money equal.

Bucks get a different PG, a great fit next to Bogut to help their offense and keep #10

Felton / Dooling
Salmons / Burks
Delfino / Moute
Bargnani / Gooden
Bogut / Sanders

Lawson / Calderon
AA / #21
Galinari / Chandler
Ersan / Harrington
Nene / Mozgov / Koufos

To TOR: Carroll + Diop + POR 2013 1st
To CHA: Maggette + TOR 2012 2nd

Toronto gets a future 1st for Maggette

Bobcats clear their worst contracts while turning them into Maggette and getting a 2nd in a deep draft

Jennings / Bayless / PG (signed)
Derozan / Bell / Carroll
Johnson / Klezia
Davis / Amir / Diop
Kanter / Andersen / Alabi

Possible? Unfair? What do you think

The name DeRozan should not be in this thread. Especially not for that deal.

Why is DeRozan untradeable? I'd rather have D. Williams and Rubio than DeRozan and any at 5 (except maybe Kanter).

I don't know, seems fair to me. Depending who is available at #5. Although I'm not sold on Williams (possible tweener/weak d), or Kanter (seemingly weak D). I'd rather keep DeRozan and draft Knight. But if Williams is legit and the big four are off the table, it's a fair trade.

His improvement from year 1 to year 2, and his work ethic, is why he is untradeable.

After that we can trade Jose to the Lakers for Kobe.

If we managed to do either of those trades I'd do a series of things which would land me in jail but I will bear news which will make my prison mates worship me as their deity and then they will break me out.

More realistic would be Amir + Barbosa for Darko + 2nd round pick. (Because of the cap it would save)
