lol no. Jordan had some critics (and deserved some; he wasn't exactly a perennial nice guy) but was nonetheless the darling of the NBA his whole career.

When the last time a potential hall of famer was disliked as much as LeBron or to a lesser extent D-Wade?
The amount of hate won't subside from me, because it has nothing to do with how much they win. It's about the circumstances of the team forming, with "two of the most exciting and talented players ever" deciding they can't win championships without engineering a free agency period to form a superteam together and ideally pal around their way to several titles. The unprecedented amount of hate for them arises from the unprecedented actions they took. Also their attitudes are horrendous. If they pull out the title it will just mean they did what everyone expected to do, but made it harder on themselves with their inability to play up to their potential together.

+1
I hope they lose but my hate is coming from the way they "created" the team starting from the Olympic games. Bosh really decided not to play anymore for the Raptors with his normal attitude and effort in the last 3 months in Toronto and the Raps could not reach the playoffs.

Choker wrote:When teams go zone, it's when they're most susceptible to give up offensive boards cause they're covering a certain zone and not a player; it's hard for players to find a defender to box out. It's why teams don't like going zone. The Mavericks this series have done an extremely poor job of boxing out when the shot goes up.
I know when a team goes zone, it's harder to find a counterpart to box out. However, the Miami Heat have grabbed 34.7%, 34.1%, and 29.1% of the available offensive rebounds in games 1, 4, and 5 respectively. The Heat were ranked 19th during the regular season with an offensive rebounding percentage of 25.2% which is well below average when comparing to the league average at 26.4% ORB%. Even with a zone defense, the Mavericks should be doing a better job to keep the Heat off the glass because the Heat have shown to be a terrible offensive rebounding team. A zone defense shouldn't be allowing that many offensive rebounds either way because they're crowding the paint.
Plus, it's not like LeBron James hasn't experienced playing against an effective zone defense during his trip to the Finals. The Chicago Bulls one of the best defensive teams in the league also applied a zone defense during the Eastern Conference Finals against the Heat as Chris Bosh himself noted. Where was Dwyane Wade during that series who has shown to be so effective against a zone defense? Like I said, it may be part of the Mavericks' zone defense, but not entirely their zone defense slowing LeBron down when he has proven to be dominant against the Bulls with their zone defense.

And for some reason they are allowing a lot of offensive rebounds to the Heat. They're doing a very poor job of boxing their men out when the shot goes up. You can see it right after someone shoots it; they turn around and stand still in one place. They don't even look for the nearest man in their vicinity to block out; all they do is stand there. And Chicago ran zone against the Heat? Could have fooled me, the most cleverly disguised zone defense I've ever seen in my life. If they did play zone it was only for like a couple of plays cause they played straight up man defense most of the series.

This rebounding technique is known as doing a Bargnani.
Dallas coaches have obviously picked up on how effective this is and are teaching it to their players. Their statistcal staff has determined that even if you do NOTHINg to grab a rebound its likley somone else on your team will get it so effort is nouch better spent on things more complicated than rebounding. It obviusly works becuase Dallas is leading the series.

Don't ever associate Dirk with Bargnani again.
There is no parallel. They could be twin brothers for all I care and there's still no relation to be made in terms of basketball ability.

No argument there, but I'd stay away from the comparisons. A 5 second google search produced this gem from last season:
Lionel Messi wrote:Bosh a tremendous player and is very close, if not equal, and arguably better than Dirk. Dirk has 10X more talent than Bosh does, of course he's going to win more.

All the pressure is on Miami tonight. Dallas just needs to do their thing. Can't wait. Hopefully it's another close one.

Definitely not an unreasonable comparison last year.

And am I wrong? Dirk has a lot of very good teammates. Arguably the deepest team in the league too. You would say he's as good as any of those guys in their prime?
Maybe he has a case with Wade.

Swap Bosh for Dirk and Miami's already won the Championship. Dallas didn't make it out of the first round.
