^^^ That's a great breakdown of LeBron's strengths and weaknesses.

It never ceases to amaze me how people can call LeBron one of the greatest talents or most skilled players in the league. He's neither. He's just a guy that is so physically gifted that he can impose his will under the right circumstances (open court, one-on-one). He has no post game, no mid-range game, and as many have stated, he doesn't play well off the ball at all. He's pretty much just a spectator when he gives up the ball.

The reason he gets a lot of assists is not that he has otherworldy court-vision (although his court vision is elite), it's that he always has the freaking ball in his hands. In many ways, Rajon Rondo is as effective a player, and does it with much less hoopla.

I would argue that Rondo is a LOT more effective than James as a play-maker. LeBron gets his teammates long range shots (which is why they failed him last year -- the rim shrinks in the playoffs), whereas Rondo breaks down the defense and gets his guys great looks from all over the court. This is exactly why Shaq went from having one of his most efficient seasons playing with Nash to having one of his worst playing with LeBron. He just wasn't getting the same great looks, and not all of that is on the coach either.

Anyway, regarding his mentality... from the wiretap...

James won’t get mad, and James won’t get even and make people pay a price. When opposing players hear people insist they ought to be respectful of James out of fear of retribution – be careful they don’t stir him with words – they privately giggle.

“Different guys are different,” Stevenson told Yahoo! Sports in a corner of the Mavericks’ locker room Thursday night. “Kobe Bryant feeds off stuff like that. He looks for it every time. LeBron’s a different kind of person. Obviously he’s a freak of nature, able to do a lot of things, but everybody in this league is built different.”

Semi, I've been saying this for a long time. Lebron is only athletic he has nothing else in his game, he's a streaky shooter but when it's off it's OFF!! and he doesn't have that killer instinct so if his stats are bad he just sits back and watches.

That was really annoying to watch. ESPN has made everything so individual centric over the years that all you hear about is superstar this, superstar that. They're like the Fox News of sports.

I wanted to sign Ian Mahinmi in the off season, in the few moments he's gotten on the court, I wish he was on our team.

Dirk is so cold right now. Stupid fouls took him off his game early on. Hopefully he steps it up in the 2nd half.

Terry is kicking ass right now though. I think he has 19 in the 1st half.

Stevenson was a genius stopping the Miami run with that bonehead shove

^ Deshawn is a gangsta ... love to add him as a FA next year.

Brian Cardinal looks like a junior high chemistry teacher that transported himself into the game ... weird.

JJ Barea ... I'm not a fan, but what do you think he's worth on the FA market? My guess is Cuban overpays to keep him and Chandler and Stevenson.

This is comical. Miami deserves all the hate that they're going to get after this game.

Dirk finished off strong, just as I expected him too. Dude struggled all game long but absolutely came through when it mattered. I'm glad he stuck with it and didn't puss out, because it would have been easy to fold after such atrocious shooting in the first 3 quarters.

I'm glad I get to both DIrk and Kidd get a championship. Well deserved.

and you guys thought our capitulation in 08 was weak.

Props to Nowitzki and Kidd though, both guys deserved this and may not get another chance like this. Such a muted celebration by Dirk though, the guy is class all the way.

+1

Fellow Lakers fans, we were swept by the Champions. Personally, I can finally put that awful taste the series left away. Well, almost.

Congrats, Kidd, Dirk, Dallas,

I never want to hear how great LeBron's impact is or how he's far above his peers; not until he proves he's worth a damn in these situations. And Wade's legacy also takes a hit, despite the numbers, he didn'y have a spotless series.

Anyways, very happy for Dirk and the Mavs. Great team and a great group of players. Beating Kobe, Durant, Wade and James all in a single Playoffs, not too bad. Lakers better be ready next year.

Congrats to Dallas. Very happy for Dirk and Kidd.

About 80% of Miami's fanbase must be on suicide watch right now.
