He didn't. He's too young to be worrying about his legacy anyway.

He's not the player people thought he was because when they thought he would rebound in the series, he didn't.

Re: How bad did LeBron damage his legacy?
at least Lebron got his 51% shooting in the regular season so that he appears to be efficient

His career is more than half-way over.

Way to early for this. These guys are together another 5 season. Lebron will win a title or two at some point.

I'll give him one final chance.
Kobe has 5 rings prior to losing his first Finals series. LeBron has a HUGE uphill battle to repair his legacy. Kobe had a well earned cushion.
I agree with your point, but Kobe only had 3 rings before losing his first Finals in 2004.

Beside Kobe's loss in '08 to the ALL-Time defensive team in Celtics. Celtics '08 >> Mavs '11, period.
So no shame for Kobe to lose that series when most experts predict the Lakers to lose anyway. Lebron simply fail at the highest level when experts and everyone bank on them to win easily. C'com, no comparable. Lebron's legacy will always be regarded as a choker in big pressure series.
Oh no doubt. None of the rings he wins with this heat will be comparable to the two kobe won. Same standards should be applied to lebitch when kobe was with shaq until he wins with an inferior cast.

At this point it does not matter what LeBron does during the regular season. If he can't do it in June, he'll end up being a more talented Dominique Wilkins level player.

0-2 in the Finals. He's 27 next year. Out of HS with a lot minutes played already. Zero rings.

Re: How bad did LeBron damage his legacy?
I do think he damaged it somewhat.
We're never going to hear that "Lebron is the next Jordan" talk again (which was WAY premature when it popped up after the Bulls series) until he wins a title.
Wade brought it, Lebron didn't.

Re: How bad did LeBron damage his legacy?
I don't care about his age...nobody is forgetting that he lost a series, with home court, with a healthy team, with a far superior level of talent. FAR superior level of talent. And he didn't just lose, he was GARBAGE.
This IS a significant part of his legacy. It can still be a legacy of redemption, but no amount of winning makes this series just *poof* disappear.

Ok. He is also on easily the most talented team in the NBA. And they got to game 6 of the Finals in their first year together. They should only be getting better for the next 4-5 years. It's still extremely likely that LeBron wins multiple rings.

Re: How bad did LeBron damage his legacy?
Very, very badly. All 3 have, though less so with Wade.
This was the risk they took when they did what they did this summer.

Lebron needs to get rid of the women in his life. Cut ties with his mom and gf.

Re: How bad did LeBron damage his legacy?
I think it's permanent damage. If Lebron's athleticism is declining now imagine how it will be in 3 years. Wade is also getting up there in age.
