Re: How bad did LeBron damage his legacy?
Not at all really. Everyone will forget this when he wins rings in the future, as seems inevitable. I didn't expect them to win this year, I thought the Lakers would win. The Heat's results were a good outcome for their first year together. They need time to gel, to round out the roster, and to fire their coach. I cannot emphasise that last one enough. The team had 2 of the worst starters in the NBA and only got their 2 best role players back in the playoffs, one who had tape all over the fingers he uses to shoot (his main function) and neither of whom had time to develop enough chemistry with the team.

The ceiling on his legacy is lowered, that's all. Got swept in the Finals as lead dog, lost in the finals as Pippen. Chinks in the armor of his athleticism are beginning to show imo. Better find that jumper, and better find it quick.

He actually played well offensively most of this series. Miami should have went to him more.
I always thought Bosh would have been wiser to go to Chicago. Better fit, more touches on offense...

This was the risk they took when they did what they did this summer.
And yet you were the main person crying about superteams.

Hurt his image bad. If he had stayed with them he could blame losses on not having anyone else. On this team he can't. He looked scared the whole series.

now he's going to have a lot of work to do to prove he's not just Grant Hill. Future successes could eventually make this a footnote though. But if it were the final chapter...
lol
why even mention Grant Hill??
Grant Hill never had a team that was championship contender.... he could of with Magic but injuries happened... Grant Hill is much classier than LeBron James ever will be.

The only thing he could do at this point is LEAD his team to a championship (just winning rings isn't good enough) as a dominant post player.

He really didn't. He had a really crappy first three games, a strong last three games. But he's more Horace Grant than Kevin Garnett, and I'm pretty sure I'd take Horace over him as a 3rd option.

Not as bad as people say it is....
If he wins 4-5 championships
I would still put him in my top 5...

The impact on his legacy is like his impact on this series, only the complete opposite

Lebron cemented his image as the most over hyped player ever.

Re: How bad did LeBron damage his legacy?
Mods should ban me for 2 weeks for calling Lebron a top 10 player ever after the Chicago series. That's the most embarrasing thing I've ever said. I had him written in as "Playoff/clutch acumen... check". Lession learned, don't count the clutch factor till he gets a ring!

You're right, I was overlooking his struggles earlier in the series. He's really just a terrible fit as a third option on this team.

Re: How bad did LeBron damage his legacy?
This series is a black mark on his record. Wade was the better player and LeBron was awful in the fourth quarters this whole series.
I'd always thought of propane as a dignified lady. But she can also be a dirty girl.

Ok. He is also on easily the most talented team in the NBA. And they got to game 6 of the Finals in their first year together. They should only be getting better for the next 4-5 years. It's still extremely likely that LeBron wins multiple rings.
5 years? In a league with no MLE? Where Miami has already traded several of its picks? When Wade is 34 and Bron is 31?
People are squawking about Kobe starting to lose it at age 32 and he has a game that is far less dependent on athleticism than Wade and Bron.
Miami's window isn't nearly as big as people are making it out to be.
