Great player, but the biggest front runner in Sports IMO...

Heck, Magic jut said on ESPN that when things are going well...hes the best player and dominating...but if not...he's a little hesistant and lose confidence...

So the story in Cleveland was he didn't have enough help.

So he goes to Miami and team up with HOF/all star players and still coundn't get the job done.

So now what's the excuse ?

Does he need more help ?

These guy has been called chosen one...king james...etc

But after 8 years in the league, what has he accomplished ?

2 MVPS are great...but he still hasn't won, even with a great supporting cast..HCA..you name it...so now what's the excuse for Lebron ?

Gotta give him credit tho...hes a really interesting player and made this season really fascinating...ever since the decision he's been must watch...

it's very likely LBJ will end up with a couple rings, but his legacy will never be what it could have been had he stayed the course and won as the lead dog on his own team. didn't have to be in Cleveland, it would have been nice, but any team as long as he was the "man". BUT IN THE MEANTIME, CAN SOMEONE CALL LEBRON ON HIS CELL TONIGHT, SO HE CAN AT LEAST HEAR A RING.........

Gilbert's a bitter son of a bitch, but he's absolutely right on this one. The Mavs were the better team in the end, and their experience and mental toughness was the edge.

As for Gilbert and the Cavs, they could use a shortcut or two, because without one they're much further from a title than LeBron and co.

He's still up there as one of the most talented and dominating players to play the game, but he didn't show up in the 4th at all the entire series. On top of that he lost with Wade and Bosh AND he got swept against the Spurs (even though he took that scrub team to the final). Next year is do or die for Lebron.

Im a pretty big LeBron defender in the big picture discussion even if I no longer like him, but this was pretty damaging. At least you could say the supporting cast wasn't good and a champ was at least something of an accomplishment, but to lose to a team that people didn't even expect to be there and to perform so poorly in the fourth quarter is going to be tough to ignore.

what about wade's legacy. he disappeared/choked in the clutch all series..specifically in games 2 and 4 and 6. also had a horrific ECF that was WAY worse than lebron's finals.

Wade's legacy was helped, if anything, despite his 4th quarter struggles. He carried this team.

What has ruined his legacy more than anything is the way he allowed Wade to establish himself as the clear alpha dog of the team. LeBron deferred and acquiesced to Wade the entire series and willing accepted a back seat role as the second option. Forget Jordan; Bird, Magic, Hakeem, Duncan, Shaq wouldn't have let that happen in their primes. Hell, Kobe broke up a dynasty because he selfishly wanted to be the alpha dog of his team. I still don't understand how someone with all his skill, his talent, his athletic ability can be so passive and deferential when he's capable of so much more.

Lebron hurt his legacy alot, especially as he conceded being the #2 to Wade

Lebron will be known as a stat stuffer like Gervin and Dominque, Paul Pierce, Payton, Malone, Barkley.

Lebron will never be considered on the same level as a champion, a guy who can over come all odds and still win like Magic, Jordan, Bird, Duncan, Shaq, Hakeem, Kobe

Jordan was knocked out by the Pistons in the ECF a few times before he beat them and they won the Finals. At the time, people were talking about how he was overrated and couldn't win.

Now, I'm not saying the LBJ is Jordan cuz he doesn't have that killer drive, jumpshot, and other intangibles that Jordan had. I'm just saying that if he wins after this season, this Finals will be seen as a hurdle that he needed to go through in order to reach the top, just like how the Pistons were for Jordan.

However, as other people have said. What we've finally seen and should now admit. LBJ tries to be more of a PG (a la Magic) rather than the finisher (a la Jordan). He never attacked the basket and forced himself to the line. He kept drawing and kicking it out, which is great in theory if you're a PG. But if you're supposed to be one of the best scoring forwards in the game, you need to attack the basket again and again and only kick out when the other team has been beaten so many times that they don't even bother to cover their man and they leave them wide open.

James has to realize that the teams know they aren't afraid of the Chalmers 3s, the Juwan Howard hookshots, or the Haslem jumper from the top of the key. They're afraid of him! But by passing it each time, he's taking that fear away from his opponent and he's not maximizing his effort to really help his team. He could've gone to the lane so many times but he kept passing it. And then when it was too late, he started shooting a little. But IT WAS TOO LATE!

He'll be ok but he's got to get his mind right. Maybe he needs to get beat up like this in order to know how to beat others. Only time will tell.
