Re: NBA Finals Thread: Mavericks vs. Heat
LeBron and Wade choked in this series, but it really might be time for the Heat to part with Bosh. The guy doesn't do the necessary things to win in the playoffs (mainly defense and rebounding) and he lacks an element of toughness (both mental and physical) that many other players have. His role on the team was that of an efficient mid-range jump shooter and the Heat can get that kind of production from many other players on the cheap. They simply don't need him, they never did.

LeBron lacks mental toughness.

Why didn't Lebron go to college?
Because he didn't want to show up for the finals.

Bosh should go to Chicago, I said this last year.

Even though he didn't win it all this season, Bosh proved all you haters wrong. It's a shame it'll be a long time until we get another player of that caliber.

Re: NBA Finals Thread: Mavericks vs. Heat
True enough, but who are they going to trade him for?
Who wants to pay Bosh max money to play about as well as Udonis Haslem--check that, worse than Udonis-- for twice the money?
Bosh is as Bosh does. He is totally irrelevant. When he gets hot from 18 feet he's a helpful player but outside of that what does he bring? Whether he scores or doesn't really, is immaterial. He's the epitome of empty stats. He was making his shots tonight, wasn't he?
Basically all the Lebron fanboys thought that his shooting would make up for the poor perimeter shooting of Wade and Lebron. What has happened, largely, is what happened with us:
1) Bosh is lured into shot
2) Defender either gives the shot or overplays.
3.) If defender overplays Bosh gets frees or a good luck on a drive.
4.) Defender doesn't overplay and Bosh flails like he's been shot on a driveby (and the ref buys it).
5.) Defender doesn't overplay and stays on feet and Bosh misses.
6.) Team makes a mistake but Bosh, in his hurriedness not to get hit, fumbles the ball.
7.) Bosh runs back and plays subpar man d.
Who in their right mind is going to give the heat a real player for that? I wouldn't.

Again Bosh does what he has always done put up great numbers, I don't think anyone can question that. It's the intangibles that most of us have an issue with, its the other stuff... he just doesn't have it in him.

Bosh is very much who I thought he was. A flawed player that the Miami Heat really don't need at all.

Volcano wrote:I agree that Miller and Bibby pretty much got open shots. Bibby was still shooting like 43% during the regular season, so it's not like Lebron/Wade made him worse. He just wasn't hitting shots. In the playoffs last year, Bibby also had a bunch of stinkers..his 3's look to be a similar pattern to this year's playoffs. Mike Miller, on the other hand, has extremely inconsistent minutes and his hand is still injured. Plus, he's dealing with personal issues, which may result in him spending less time in the gym.
The real problem with Miami was that their defense didn't hold up and on offense, Bosh was scared to shoot and Lebron was scared to shoot/be aggressive (Lebron did better in the final game..but too little too late). Bosh's weaknesses on D were exposed as well, even though there were some defensive positives.
Bibby did shoot fairly well during the regular season, but he's not exactly a great role player for the Heat nor did he step up when the games mattered most during these playoffs. At this point, Bibby is a living-dead corpse on the basketball court who offers inconsistent long range shooting and little to no playmaking. LeBron James and Dwyane Wade can't carry the burden of bringing the basketball up, setting up the offense, playmake for their teammates like a PG while scoring to top it all off through the double teams. They need a PG who can at least create shots on their own, spot-up consistently, and not cough the ball over when there's a full-court press. Chalmers can spot-up consistently, though coughs the ball over like a flu when he's being pressured. Same goes with House and Bibby to a lesser extent. As for Miller, he's still a decent option off the bench that can occasionally shoot, defend and provide some rebounding at the SF position, though he's washed up at this point who's inconsistent with his production. With Bibby and Miller, you don't know what they're going to give you on a nightly basis and the Heat gambled on them by playing them to see what they can give. Not exactly a great supporting cast when there's a huge question regarding their production from night to night.
The defense can be tied to their offense. The Heat play a blitzing perimeter defense to make up for their lack of interior defense, and when your star offensive players is also heavily responsible for this blitzing perimeter defense, it's certinaly not going to hold up due to their fatigue.
Basketball is like poetry in motion, cross the guy to the left, take him back to the right, he's fallin back, then just J right in his face. Then you look at him and say, "What?" - Jesus Shuttlesworth

Re: NBA Finals Thread: Mavericks vs. Heat
Lebron avg something like 20 pts on 40 % shooting in these finals. Jordan averaged 33 pts on 48% shooting over all his finals series games. Lets hope there arent any more comparisons.
You guys catch Ledouche's comments that people can hate all they want, they will still have the same life in the morning???? (Im paraphrasing but it was something like that). What a **** arse.
