What did he prove? That he can shoot a crappy percentage and put up a mediocre effort on the boards in the finals and not win a championship despite playing with Lebron and Wade?

It was great to see Chrissy lose. The Praying Mantis with the hanging tongue sank a few wide open looks but was otherwise a non-factor. Hope you enjoyed the finals third wheel.

I follow the Raps cause I'm from Toronto, and deep inside me I hope that one day this organization will finally realize the way a basetball team should be put together. I'm tired of these damn euros like Bargs and these (Please Use More Appropriate Word) GMs like BC. I just want a team to be put together properly. Not a 7ft shooting gurad that trolls its own city fans by saying he does more important things than rebounding. I mean ffs. If the guy said something like that in Boston or LA he'd be gone in an effin heartbeat, but this city treasures this fake jewel Bargsy like a fkcin baby.
Don't follow the raps just cause your from Toronto, nothing is stopping you from following other teams. You sound like your bitter that Euros are being drafted into the Raptors. No matter how many times you've convinced yourself that you are a better GM than Bryan Colangelo. On his worst day, he would still be a thousand times better than you on your best day. You sound threatened by Euros more than anything. Nobody's babying Bargs, BC tried to develop him because he saw potential in him. That's what you do when you draft a project with the number one draft pick.

so sad
http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=a ... als_061311
To hear James suggest that the world will have to return to its sad, little ordinary lives and he’ll still get to be LeBron James late Sunday night was a window into his warped, fragile psyche. It was sad, and portends to how disconnected to the world he truly is.
“They have to wake up and have the same life that they had before they woke up today … the same personal problems,” James said. “I’m going to continue to live the way that I want to live. … But they have to get back to the real world at some point.”

I try not to get too caught up in stuff off the court, but those comments churn my stomach.

Agree they have time to win championships, but just wanted to point out that Bosh is 27, and Wade is 29 1/2 already.
Ah, I see you've played knifey-spoony before....

One thing is for sure, seeing Dallas win based on good effort and team play made me remember an NBA game that has faded away being replaced by individual talent and ego from manufactured and protected superstars. I wish we could go back to bball as an actual sport and not some corporate product that pushes and protects individual stars

Is he wrong though? How many here wouldn't trade lives with LBJ, finals failure, media/fan hate and all?
He's still a dick for saying it though.

Dave D'Allessandro concurs (great line near the end) [full article]:
In the end, they did us all a favor.
You’re welcome, Rick Carlisle said.
Don’t mention it, Dirk Nowitzki added.
Glad you enjoyed the lesson, Jason Kidd crowed.
Perhaps some of us didn’t really see it until the scoreboard blinked Dallas 105 Miami 95, but the broader picture stretched beyond the miraculous events at AmericanAirlines Arena, beyond these NBA Finals, and even beyond the deep and shark-filled money trench that runs through the heart of the league and its hype machinery.
Here’s the lesson: Teams win.

Lebron's dismal 4th quarters hurt the team.
Both Lebron and Wade should have kept it more simple.. They were too fancy with the ball, over dribbling.
As much fun as it was watching LeBron lose this year, I really want to see him come back with a post game and unleash his full potential. He jumper still needs work, but it's absolutely criminal for a guy his size and strength to be matched up with JKidd and not be able to punish him.

Re: NBA Finals Thread: Mavericks vs. Heat
for as bad as that quote was there is another telling thing.
Lebron is essentially okay with losing the championship.
Winning a championship is not defying of his legacy in his own eyes. His brand and privileged life seem to be.
Could be the reason he mentally 'checks out' and just can't seem to push that final mile.
Guys like Kobe, Jordan, etc winning the championship was their goal and it was vindication that they were the best and that's what drove them.

Very true. I was surprised that Boston, with the two O'Neils didn't ask them to be roll players and simply deliver clean hard fouls to the Heat's big three. Nothing illegal, but make them pay their dues if they wanted to drive to the hoop.

It's not that he's wrong per se, it's just a revelation of his makeup. MJ would've internalized all those criticisms and used it to fuel his determination to come back even better next year. LBJ's defensiveness makes him come off as a pouty little bitch, frankly.

^^
LBJ is talking to the people who hate for no reason. The guy came two games away from winning a championship. A lot of teams in the league would trade their teams for the Heat. Even though basketball wise, their makeup doesn't make sense, it was good enough to be the 2nd best team in the league. I'm glad they lost and hope they never win. But if you're gonna hate on LeBron today, you need to hate on him even if/when he does win. Unless people try to say he won because he "changed his attitude"....smh.

I wouldn't want to be LBJ. I'd prefer to be the scrub that gets paid 2 million a year to wave a towel. I can wave a mean towel you know.

Life is better today, my coffee tastes better, even my job is fun today
Thanks to Dallas for that.
when Dallas was raining threes from everywhere, you have got one of the best 3 point shooter in NBA :"James Jones" and you are trying to expect to create miracles from washed up Bibby and House(he did ok last game ). i dunno Dallas killed them but Spo is an idiot, who doesnt know nor can read a basketball game.
Besides Lebron will regret one day that he had the opportunity and money and time to hire one of the NBA legends(you pick one) to improve his game and fill in the loopholes but he was just too arrogant for it.

carlosey wrote:From this experiment there are certain conclusions:
Bosh is indeed a difficult player to work with in todays NBA. He cant be the main man to carry a team, but he does have offensive finnesse to be a capable scorer. In terms of his frame, he is too skinny and is easily overpowered down low, but when he packs pounds his frame tends to break down(natural for someone with that frame).
He can hit jumpers nicely, but is absolutely brutal down low. He fumbled the ball incredibly and cannot complete unless the play is an iso created for him.
His defense was brutal. How he let Dirk school him on those postups all series long and even barea completely blow by him was bad. He was a great defensive player in his first two years in the L but has definitely lost that. Hes no pushover, but I do think his days as an all star will come to an end if he maintains playing behind lebron and wade or any other two stars for that matter. This season proved he is not a franchise player and that lebron and wade are indeed a few notches above him. He is overpaid massively for that reason.
If you put Bosh into a situation where he is the definitive #2 option on offense, has a strong defensive center next to him... and here is the difficult part... only makes 10 mil a year and not 16, he can excel. He is still one of the best mid-range shooting PFs in the game. But he is not a defensive anchor and as we saw gives up way too many offensive boards to the other team. His offense is not varied enough to be a #1 option either.
However very very few players take a demotion from #1 option to #2 or even #3 well unless it is clear the guy coming in is a lot better than him. Bosh obviously got that in Miami with LBJ and Wade. If he had stayed in Toronto, he would not have done that for DD, Bargs, or whoever it may be coming in next year. He would have stayed at #1, and we would have continued to have a predictable offense.

change lives with lebron? no thanks. and i know nothing about you, but i have no doubt you can do something a lot more useful in this world than what lebron does. You may not (well, almost surely will not) get as rich, but being respected by people who actually know you and appreciate your character and actions is a lot more worthy and in my opinion satisfying than having most of the world hate you and the rest want to suck you off just because you're rich. screw that. i mean, i like basketball but its a big world out there...he's not a dick for saying it, and he's not even a dick for thinking it, he's just a dick for being it...a superficial selfish guy with no guts, no clue and no class
