OKC-Mem Trade idea

Post#1 » by FanOfAFan » Mon Jun 13, 2011 4:33 pm

Was recently talking to one of my friends about the OKC (his favorite team) he cannot stand the Westbrook-Durant chemistry or lack there of. We were talking about ways to improve their roster by trading Westrbook. This is one idea he threw out and to me sounded like a good trade for both teams. Let me know what you think...

Grizz trade...
Conly
Mayo
Gasol (Sign and trade)

Grizz Receive...
Westrbook
Perkins
Collison

Grizz Becomes...
Westbrook/Vasquez
Allen/Sam Young
Gay/Shane Battier
Zbo/Arthur
Perkins/Collison

OKC Becomes...
Conley/Maynor
Harden/Mayo
Durant/Sef
Ibaka
Gasol

Why for Grizz...
They get a defensive big to go with Zbo offense as well as a leader, Westbrook was second team all NBA and they would have 3 great scorers from all areas on the court Guard, wing, and post, to go along with two great defenders as complimentary players. They also get to bring back Gay and they free up shots by trading offense for defense. I feel the chemistry and leadership would be good.

Why for OKC...
They get a nice point guard as well as an offensive threat in post and get to start harden while not losing offense off the bench, but more importantly they get rid of the inevitable (or so it seems) fued and let the team be officially Durants.

Let me know what you think..

No thank you. No interest in moving Gasol - even for Westbrook.

No way. OKC's two most overrated players plus a limited role player for our three most underrated = trade rape.

IMO, the Grizzlies should have no interest in Westbrook or Perkins.

If you have some sort of deal on the table for Ibaka or Harden then that might be more interesting for Memphis.

What the...

Why do you want Griz to help their potential rival for Championship?

Gasol >>>>>>>>>>>> Westbrook
and Conley and Mayo for just Perkins and Collinson, a pair of craps?

Get lost!

There is no bad chemistry between Durant and Westbrook and Westbrook has top-10 value in the NBA right now. No need for OKC to be interested in this trade

The only way you're getting Gasol is if you include Durant in the deal. Westbrook might be a top10 talent as far as point guards but even that's a stretch

Nash
Rondo
Jennings
Curry
Rose
Wall
Rubio
Irving
CP3
Evans
Harris
Westbrook?

Watch out for Jrue Holiday and Ty Lawson this year.

not top 10 as a PG, top 10 in the league. RealGM voted him as the 9th most valuable player in the league taking into account age and other intagables

I'm not the biggest Westbrook fan but come on. He's a borderline top ten overall player in the league. Devin Harris LMAO.

Devin Harris you forget was an allstar. Westbrook is a lot of hype. I'd still go with Mayo or even as far as picking Chris Douglas-Roberts over Westbrook just like in 2008 I would have.

No, I didn't forget. But that was two years ago on a mediocre Nets team in a weak conference. I love Juice but he's not seeing Westbrook's ability to impact a game (Insert Westbrook stealing shots from Durant joke here). And CDR lmaooooo.
