exactly..Lebron is what..25?..if he wins 3 titles in the next 6 yrs and dominates, his 'legacy' will be fine..just like Dirks is right now. That guy is one of the most talented ball players ever, its very possible he puts it all together someday

Dirk's legacy after 06 was that he choked in the championship. Just like Kobe's legacy in 08 was that he couldn't win a championship without Shaq. Only Kobe winning in 09 and 10 and Dirk winning this year changed that. You can say that you think LeBron will change his legacy by winning a ring or rings in the future but that's just guessing. For now his legacy is what he's done so far.

When it comes to his basketball career, this is only a minor blemish on his record, and if he wins multiple championships it will be forgotten or at the very least labeled as a character building moment in his otherwise superhuman career.

With this said, if he keeps this up, yeah his "legacy" as far a basketball goes isn't going to improve.
This is complete BS his first eight seasons will never be overlooked no matter what.

Not only did he destroy his legacy, he put Kobe into one of the more respected players of his generation.

Even after the back 2 back, people always put a bit of blame on Kobe for running out Shaq to get his own titles.

Now that is more respected, with this tag team attempt Lebron tried and failed at. Now basketball fans respect the Kobe's and Dirk's who are not afraid to fail being superstars and doing as the alpha male.

There was some awful watching the Heat cry beating a hobbled older team in Boston.

lebron is 27 next year. unless he adds more weapons to his offensive game, his game is going to drop off drastically in 3 years. we've already seen how less of an impact he can make on the court with slightly less explosiveness.

i think that, along with learning how to gain the mentality of a true winner, will have more to do with his legacy.

Dirk was well on his way to becoming the greatest European player of all-time even after 06-07. You're grasping at straws.

So? James has been a much better player than him at the same stage of their careers and Dirk had a much more embarrassing history in the playoffs until this year compared to Lebron. And please to those comparing Lebron to Kobe. If Lebron had played with Shaq in his prime years, we wouldn't even be discussing this right now.

Lebron homers on damage control once again as usual. You guys can try to spin it any way you want but the truth is Lebron's legacy has taken a big hit. He has no chance of getting to GOAT status now. He's going to have to win multiple rings in convincing fashion (a.k.a not being 2nd fiddle to wade ) in order to be considered even in the top 10 all time.

People talk about winning 3 or 4 titles as if it's an easy thing to do.

And who cares about the GOAT anyway...Kobe won how many rings and he is still nowhere near that? You think he cares as much as you do? I doubt it. And we had seen with Jordan where that title of GOAT may take you at the end. The reason James wanted the ring in his first year was to silence people, I am guessing, like you, who wanted him to get crushed at each step.

Too bad his team still reached the finals. And I will continue to say this, but the fault does not only lie with him. Did you actually see how many times he had to point his teammates to the empty spaces? Couldn't they come up with a strategy to utilize his other abilities...There is a reason why you have someone like a coach to guide the team even when the players struggle.

We are talking about Lebron's legacy in this thread yes? Weren't you people comparing him to the GOAT a while back? That's the only reason I brought it up because Lebron is nowhere near GOAT level.

Too bad his team still reached the finals. And I will continue to say this, but the fault does not only lie with him. amazing, even at a time like this Lebron fans can still make excuses for the guy. Not Lebron's fault? pointing his teammates to empty spaces? Yea I guess he still needs more help huh? I guess everything is his teammates/coaches fault again? Please excuses are for losers.

Dirk never had that kind of talent surrounding him.

Just saw an interview with Lebron where he talks about how everybody else goes back to their personal problems in a day or two after being happy the Heat lost, and he goes on to live the way he wants. There may have been more immature sports figures, but this one doesn't have the sense to be quiet.

Vince never disappeared on his team quite like Lebron either. He played horrible but you always knew where Vince Carter was in the court.

No coach. No GM. Probably no star. I swear, in my 23 years of following this team, I can't name a stranger time than this moment to be a supporter of the Magic.

His legacy is that he's a quitter and he added to that against the Mavs.
