Brad Arnsberg available = Jays?

Post#1 » by number15 » Tue Jun 14, 2011 6:18 pm

Astros pitching coach Brad Arnsberg has been relieved of his duties, GM Ed Wade announced Monday. The decision was made as a result of philosophical differences, according to a release by the club.

Former Astros pitcher Doug Brocail, who had been serving as a special assistant to the GM, will replace Arnsberg on an interim basis, according to an MLB.com report

Bring him back ASAP. He was excellent with our staff over the last couple years and we could really use him back.

He was a very highly respected coach in Toronto and probably could have gotten a lucrative long contract when ever he wished..... they thought that highly of him

but he chose to leave the JAYS.

and now he is out of a job so soon. He will likely sign any deal he is offered just to stay in the MLB. Not too many vacancys available these days

in Toronto he'd would have been the right hand man to John Farrell (also a former pitching coach)

Wasnt the issue with him the little cliques he formed with pitchers? Apparently it wasnt all that good for team harmony. Although It could just be Griffin making stuff up. Hes a good coach and will find a job somewhere.

i don't quite get the title of the thread then, or even worse, why this thread was even made

Obviously you're not familiar with the bringing him back at gun point option then

I'm hearing that Tinnish was sent to "watch" over Arnsberg's family after the conclusion of the draft as "extra incentive" for him coming back

He's not coming back. Management had to decide him or Cito... they chose Cito. He's done with this team.

Yeah, although its not unequivocal proof, the fact that none of our pitchers have gone on the DL for an extended period of time since Arnsberg left should count for something. Didn't we have something like 5 or 7 pitchers recovering from Tommy Johns at one point when Arnsberg was here?
