Raymond Felton
How do we get him on this team? I'm sure this has been discussed and if so lock this up. But I believe he may be the answer to our troubles. The way he gave the Knicks life earlier this season was just incredible. H plays his heart out on every possesion and his passion mixed with Kobe's hunger would be insane and would rub off on the entire oranization.
I know he wants out in Denver, and they once inquired abut D.C so maybe we start there? I know D.C is not enough to get a deal done but what would it take?
Also would you guys even be interested?
That's all I got for now, just curious....bring on the slow, long, boring and possibly extended offseason

“If this is his team, that means no more coming into camp fat/out of shape, no more blaming others for our team’s failure, my team doesn’t mean only when we win it means carrying the burden of defeat just as gracefully as you carry a championship trophy.”

Re: Raymond Felton
Lamar and Walton for Felton, a re-signed Kenyon Martin and the #22 pick and you have a deal.

I don't think you can sign players yet. I'd do Odom,Blake,Caracter, and the #41 pick for Felton,Harrington, and the #22 pick instead.

Re: Raymond Felton
^ Whoa, no way dude. Odom is worth much more than Felton straight up and Blake, Caracter and the #41 is worth about the exact same as Harrington and the #22 straight up.
The best I'd do would be Odom and Blake for Felton, a re-signed K-Mart and the #22.
I wouldn't take back Birdman or Harrington unless we added Walton, so Harrington and/or Birdman could be added to the above deal as long as Luke is thrown in their too.

Re: Raymond Felton
Could we get Felton without including Odom? Maybe something like Blake, Caracter, and the #41 pick or a future 1st round pick. If we could do that we would win next year for sure.

I think Walton's contract is now shorter than Al and Birdman, however if we could add D-fish and keep Lamar I would probably take Al. Our willingness to take on harrington's contract may make them want to do the deal even more

Re: Raymond Felton
The only way we get Felton without giving up one of our top 6 would be as follows I believe:
Lakers trade Blake, Brown, Barnes, Ebanks, Caracter, the expiring contracts of Ratliff and Smith to the Nuggets for Felton and Harrington ... I doubt that happens.

Draft picks, young players, we wouldn't trade him for anything else.

Re: Raymond Felton
Getting Felton if it happens will at least cost the Lakers Odom a trade I like is Odom, Blake to Denver for Felton, Birdman. This trade fills 2 of the Lakers needs a PG and a backup PF/C. It does make the bench weaker especially if Brown opts out. My plan to rebuild the bench after a trade like that is this, sign Kenyon Martin to takeover Odoms duty's in the post and then I heard this idea from Eric Pincus trade the Sasha TPE for Anthony Morrow if thats not possible trade a couple of 2nd round picks for Brandon Rush fror the Pacers he doesnt have the offensive stats the Morrow has but he's just as good a 3pt shooter.
My Best case 2011-2012 Lakers roster.
PG. Felton, Fisher
SG. Kobe, Morrow
SF. Artest, Barnes, Ebanks
PF. Pau, Kenyon, Caracter
C. Bynum, Birdman
I didn't include rookies because I really don't know what the Lakers will do in the draft in a couple weeks.

A 7 for 2 deal. Sounds plausible.

vmor if ur calling Felton an overweight backup I really need to know where ur getting ur information from. I've never heard any discussion about Felton and him having bad conditioning. Also Odom has never been this valuable as a trade chip his value will almost certainly drop from this point on.The worst thing ive ever heard about Felton is that he's not as good as the 2 other PG 's from his draft class Paul, and Deron but really who is as good as them at PG in the NBA today.

For the first part: "Karl last season gave the impression that Felton possibly could beat out Lawson as the starter. But that would seem to be unlikely next season." in Denver team report. I thought he's slowed down last season with Knicks. I do agree with your 'valuable Odom' statement, though.

How can you say he slowed down he was the Knicks clutch guy before he was traded. Looking at his numbers his PPG, APG, and SPG were all career highs his shooting stats were only down 3% from his last year in Charlotte which was a career high year in shooting for him.

Numbers are inflated in the Dantoni system, with that said I still like Felton for this team.

Re: Official Transaction Ideas thread
Honestly, I'd prefer Jameer to Felton. Nelson is a better 3 point shooter, and they are about equal as defenders/playmakers, although I think Nelson is more consistent overall. plus with an Odom for Nelson/Anderson swap, you're getting another 3 point shooter who is actually a comparable rebounder. I don't think odoms defense is anything special, so we aren't losing much in that department.
I really think that the answer to this teams problem is shooting, specifically the 3. We need to give Kobe/Pau/Bynum more space to operate.

Re: Official Transaction Ideas thread
Per wiretap (http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/21 ... ourt_Depth), we will look to get another back up center this off-season. Unless part of a bigger deal I dont see us trading to get a back up center, so looking at some of the cheaper FA Cs this summer (http://www.hoopsworld.com/story.asp?story_id=18192), theres:
Kyrylo Fesenko, Jazz, hes a big body but idk what all he is good for as I didnt see him play much
Francisco Elson, Jazz
Hilton Armstrong, Hawks
Aaron Gray, Hornets, played really well against our front line before going down with an injury. He has a player option next year. I wouldnt mind getting him if the situation arose.
Kwame Brown, Bobcats, tough to think of him in P&G again, and I've heard he is leaning towards resigning with the Cats, but its an option..
Jason Collins, Hawks, older guy, 9 year vet, but he's a solid defender for a bench squad.
just a couple thoughts.. theres plenty of other guys there to look at, these are just a few.. what does everyone else think about this? I know Pau will play a lot at center as well, with Lamar coming in at the 4 spot.. but if there was ever a senario where we needed to stay big with a second unit, a decent back C could come in for Drew, Pau stays at 4, and Lamar at the 3. It gives us a lot more flexibility with our bench. The less time Pau plays at C, the less he has to bang, the longer he can go without getting gassed; and god forbid if anything happened to Drew again..

What about Jeff Foster? He is a good defender and rebounder. Has played before for Mike Brown in Indiana. Seems like a good option that would come cheap.

^Foster is a hustler no doubt but his best days are behind him ... he'd be way better than Theo Ratliff though.
