Speaking of Vesley, Tim Chisholm had an article last week on why picking Vesely doesn't really make sense:

So I wonder, what are the specifics of Vesely? Well, we know that on his side, he has a 6-11 frame that isn't going anywhere, and jaw-dropping athleticism and boundless energy are surely qualities that would translate well to the NBA game. That all sounds good, but what else? Well, despite being 6-11, he's a pretty paltry rebounder. In Euroleague play last season with KK Partizan Belgrade, he averaged just 5.1 rpg per 40 minutes. As it pertains to a Raptors team employing Andrea Bargnani, they are going to need more rebounding potential out of their small forward spot.

As a three-point shooter, he's only marginally better. He connected on 33.3% of his threes in Euroleague play this season and just 28.2% in Adriatic League play. He's also a wretched free throw shooter, connecting on just 43.8% and 54.2% in the two aforementioned leagues, respectively. While his mechanics look fine, it's distressing that he has such a hard time using them to make shots.

Also distressing are his turnover and foul rates. He has a very hard time holding onto the ball and his lack of lateral quickness should only raise his foul rate in the NBA when he's asked to check one-name wonders like LeBron, Carmelo and Durant.

Sam Amick is reporting Washington might look to move up to nab Kanter.

http://www.foxsportsohio.com/06/14/11/L ... eedID=3724

Enes Kanter will work out for Washington on Friday in Chicago, and word is, the Wizards will look to trade up if all goes well. They currently possess the sixth pick.

According to Kanter's agent, Max Ergul, the Turkish big man won't last that long.

"They need to move up," Ergul told the Washington Post. "It's my job to make my kid available and accessible to very good franchises with new ownership and a good front office trying to do a job for the fans. It's my job to help their cause. They want to get to know the kid a little bit more, so they can go back and make some major decisions if they need to."

If it happens, I hope they trade up to Utah's #3. Then Knight likely falls to us.

I'm not sure why I'm rooting for Knight. Almost every time I watched him this year, I came away sort of scared about him as a prospect, and yet here we are, a week away from the draft and I'm crossing my fingers he "falls" to us.

The 2011 NBA Draft, ladies and gentlemen.

A bunch of Cavs fans are saying that if Valanciunas is there at the 4 spot the Cavs will take him. Apparently the brass there like him a lot.

Ford and Thorpe both have good things to say about Vesely and both said that he can be an excellent defender which surprised me because it doesnt jive with what most people have been saying.

LOL, I feel the same. I bashed him the whole season, but I really want him now.

if i'm BC i would think hard about taking Jonas at 5 and leaving him overseas for a year. Let him hit the weights and spend another year developing (maybe BC can even pull off another Bayless/JJ type trade in the meantime). We come back in 2012 adding another high pick in a great draft, a more ready JonasV and a ton of cap space for another player to add to our growing core.

That'd be a pretty awesome team if we have some patience.

@Wolstatsun
RT @TheHoopsReport: I'm hearing Jazz really like Brandon Knight but aren't sure if they want him at 3 or to trade down. Interest may not be mutual from Knight.

Apparently Knight isn't sure if Jazz are best fit for him. Also Jazz may pick Kanter since he is bpa and trade him.

Looks like Knight might be there at 5 by the time we pick...or if the Raptors like Enes Kanter or Valanciunas more, we might be able to arrange a deal with Utah swapping #5 for #3.

Really wouldn't surprise me if knight falls to 5 due to kanter becoming the 3rd pick.....

If BC can come out of this draft with knight at 5 then pick up another pick in the lotto.... I like where we headed.

^^ that would be an ideal situation for me, especially if we can land a C with the other pick. Landing two of Knight/Walker+Kanter/Val/Biyombo would be huge for us in terms of rebuilding with young talent, and this is one draft where it might actually be a realistic outcome.

I'm starting to believe we can get Kanter at 5. Cleveland could legitimately take Valanciunas 4.

1. Cle - Irving
2. Min - Williams
3. Uta - Knight
4. Cle - Val
5. Tor - Kanter!

I believe that'd be a franchise changing turn of events. I like Kanter and the difference between Kanter and whoever we'd be picking at 5 if Irving/Williams/Knight/Kanter went top 4, that much

Davis and Kanter frontline = BADASS!!
It's going to be a glorious day... I feel my luck could change

At this point its starting to look like kanter or knight. Which ever Utah doesn't take falls to us.

Both look to be solid prospect that can be difference makers.

Its not a consensus yet that kemba is a better pick over knight? That worries me.

If there has been any consensus in this draft its that knight is the better pick. Its mainly here on the raps board that there is arguement.

But with that said its entirely possible that kemba has a better career. But most would agree if you are comparing upside draft knight.

DraftExpress Jonathan Givony
Raptors want him bad at #5. RT @jakewritesstuff: If the Jazz weren't @ #3 would Knight slip much or is he still a consensus top five pick?
