Please bring Steve Nash to Miami

Post#1 » by SAKURABA216 » Wed Jun 15, 2011 5:54 pm

He would probably take a huge pay cut ala Mike Bibby and he would work wonders for the Miami offense which stagnates alot.

I believe point-guard should be the first priority for Miami this off-season as their defense is stellar and Dalembert will not be a huge upgrade over Anthony. Wade and Lebron need someone to take over the ball-handling duties from them that can make plays without grinding the clock down and getting shot clock violations. Im not sure whether those two can play off the ball as Lebron just seems to stand around the 3-point line and look around, but Im certain Nash can help them with this.

Please Miami, get it done! Nash is the most likeable guy in the NBA and he should get a ring or at the very least, get a chance to play in the finals.

i think nash is the worst fit for a team like that. not the same case; but hedo which is one of the few point-forwards of the nba with lebron, didn't fit to suns cause he wants the ball in his hands. nash is a great player but we have lebron,d-wade on this team and especially lebron wants the ball in his hands. as you said in your post, lebron doesn't know what to do, when he is off the ball. but ringless nash can adjust a new role for the ring, if this dream comes true. who knows :)

Unless Nash asks to be bought out, which he won't, he's not coming to Miami. He still has another year on his contract.

What I could possibly see happening is the Knicks trading Billups for Nash, and then Billups taking a buyout.

If I worked in the same place for many years and each year I had to watch as other people doing my same job celebrated becoming the thing I strived to be since my 1st year. Then I would switch to the company that would ensure that i get to that place at the end of the year.

As a bonus getting to that goal would also ensure that i would be remembered forever as one of the best employees that ever did my job and also gave me many opportunities in commercials, ads, and post career fame and extra money.

Also I get a chance to have co-workers that are said to be the best at what i do and live in a city that is considered to be one of the best in the world as far as weather, beauty and luxury.

I WOULD DO IT IN AN INSTANT!!!

Winning a championship can bring Nash more money than he already has. He would be an instant top 10 of all-time PG with a ring or 2 or 3. He would also have many more chances to be seen on a national level and be able to make more money off sponsors, commercials, etc.

He would do this I believe in a heartbeat if the Suns would ever let him go somehow.

Honestly he's really getting old, and if he does come here I want him coming off the bench. He's too old to play 30 minutes a game consistently. He can teach Chalmers a few things. Our depth and bench scoring would be amazing if he comes off the bench, but hes probably not coming here.

You do realize he led the NBA in assists again this year? How is he too old? He is better than any young players in creating shots for others. He has played 30+ minutes his whole career including last year with no signs of real tiring.

You realize Kidd is 38 and played major minutes (and plays hard defense)and beat us right? Nash could easily do it too at 38 IMO.

Nash is always in great condition, he has not slowed down much at all. He can give you 30+ minutes when needed and consistently even now.

He shot 50% from 2-40% from 3-90% from FT. Averaged 15PPG in 33minutes last season while leading the NBA in assists again at 11.4 a game/.

You really think we need more offense in our starting lineup? Nash will make our bench of scrubs all stars, he'll excel with the lesser minutes, and he'll create for our bench. We need bench productivity not, more fire power in the starting lineup, we have enough of that.

We were one of the worst scoring benches in the league. Look at our bench right now, who can create for themselves or somebody else? Nobody. Insert Nash. Our bench just gains 15 + pts per game at least.

I wouldn't take a pay cut, everything you mentioned above is theory - ask Bibby how many extra endorsements he has

Steve Nash =/= Mike Bibby.

But your right, paycut's should NOT be expected just because we're the Miami Heat. It's not that simple.

Yes I would if i was already a multi millionaire and the pay cut was still a ridiculous amount of money to play basketball. Hell I will tell you what I will play pro basketball for free.

In all honesty I would certainly take Steve Nash but I don't think it is very realistic that he is available. I think a better and more likely fit is andre miller who would command respect and also be able to take smaller opposing pg to task with his post game.

I don't think Nash is possible for the reasons given by other posters above me.

That being said I would take him in an instant if he wanted to play here.

Nash is probably the most inteligent player in the league (Kidd is right there) . Our offense would be crazy with him ... The thing is , Wade would have to play D all year long beacuse Nash can't guard nobody

If Nash were bought out it'd probably be more likely for him to reunite with Dirk, but he would be a valuable addition to the Heat roster and coaching staff. His mind is extremely valuable.

He and Dirk are best buds, so he probably hates the Heat. He is one of the most likeable players in the NBA, and would piss it all away if he joined enemy #1 team.

I think Wade and Lebron absolutely could play off the ball with Nash, and if he made Bibby's missed threes this playoffs, we'd have a chip, so don't know why people think adding a 2 time MVP still at the peak of his game at our worst position could be a negative.

If you already cuss out Bibby and Chalmers for their defense then you dont want Nash here.
Not a good fit at all.

Why? Because the Heat beat the Mavs?

I thought it was for sure it was the other way around

Anyway, Nash is a defensive liability. But I think Heat can sacrifice O for D possibly.

The thing is, the Heat don't let the PG's do anything. Wade and LeBron have to handle the ball anyway (which is annoying). When Bibby was here he barely did anything and that's not like him. Even though he missed shots, Wade or LBJ was given the ball. I don't know who's call that is. If it's Spo, he is relying on LBJ and Wade way too much.

Steve Nash is my favorite player not in a Miami Heat uniform. I would love for him to come to Miami. No comparisons to Bibby please. Steve Nash is one of the greatest shooters and assist men of all-time. I don't know of another player who consistently shoots 50% from 2, 40% from 3, 90% from the line, and gets over 10 dimes a game. Nash is a defensive liability, yes, but he's not [i]that/[i] bad. He has always been good at drawing charges, and even setting screens. I think Nash would be a great fit, and would probably help mitigate some of Spo's offensive ineptness. But for reasons posters before have said, I doubt he will leave Phoenix. It's a shame because they haven't done much to help him win a championship.

Return to Miami Heat
