Asterisk*

A lockout could help us. A late season start and shortened season will allow Lebron to work his game out and the Big 3 to better blend. They will play less and be less fatigued come the Finals. They will hopefully have learned the value of stepping on an opponent's neck when they are down to finish series even faster (not that the 4-1s were bad) to have even more rest when needed most. And when we win it all next year, people will put an asterisk on it and say it isn't the same as most championships, even if they do not say the same about the Spurs. That will motivate them even more and, coupled with this loss when so close, will be the trigger to the dynasty envisioned.

No need for an asterisk, if you win the finals you win. There is no asterisk on the Spurs 1999 championship unless you are a Lakers fan.

But there is an asterisk on the Heat getting swept that year because surely the Knicks would've been a higher seed if they played 82 games. Not to mention that you can throw the seeds out the window because of the Heat-Knicks rivalry.

There are no asterisks in basketball. The Heat just made a HUGE mistake that year. They could have won it all. They missed a great opportunity.
