Packers get a special exemption to meet during the work stoppage.

Lockout or not, the Green Bay Packers will receive their Super Bowl rings during a June 16 ceremony at Lambeau Field.

Although contact between players and team officials generally is prohibited during the NFL's ongoing work stoppage, the team said Thursday that the league granted a special exemption allowing the ceremony to be held.

"We're looking forward to having an evening for the players, coaches and organization to recognize the victory in Super Bowl XLV," Packers president and CEO Mark Murphy said in a statement posted on the team's official website. "It was an extraordinary season, and the players earned their rings in very exciting fashion. We're going to celebrate all the hard work that went into the championship. We’re excited for the evening."

The Packers defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers, 31-25, on Feb. 6 to win Super Bowl XLV in Arlington, Texas.

I wish they would do it on the field and have it open to the public. A friend of mine's brother in law is in the organization and gets a ring. The SB XXXI rings were given out at a golf outing in 1997. Now that it's getting to be June this CBA thing better get done. I plan on being at the first practice in July.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

The crest of the ring features the Green Bay "G" logo crest in 18-karat yellow gold placed on a green stone tablet. Thirteen diamonds are embedded in the logo, each one representing the team's NFL-record 13 championships. The iconic logo is illuminated by round, brilliant-cut diamonds and four marquis-cut diamonds representing the Packers' four Super Bowl triumphs. Surrounding the crest are 92 diamonds which recognize the 92-year history of Green Bay Packers football.

It's made of platinum, with 18-karat gold. It's got 3.35 carats of diamonds.

the players who got one had their names and numbers engraved. Their numbers were circled, just like on the Green Bay jerseys from the 1929 championship season. The ring also has an engraving of the Lombardi Trophy and Lambeau Field.

The ring has the scores of all four postseason games and the number "1" flanked by the words, "Mind, Goal, Purpose, Heart."

:o

I wonder how much these ended up costing?

Wow, some weird stuff going on, I've seen on some other threads in Brewers/Bucks forums too that the timestamp is off on some posts. Twilight Zone... :)

As for the cost, they won't say. The NFL pays $5000 each for up to 150 rings. Anything over that the team pays for.

If only I would have gotten married this summer instead of last, this would make the perfect wedding ring.

There are special rings (reps) available for season ticket holders and stockholders. I'll have to see the stockholders ring before I decide. Might be kind of cool.

Yeah I'm curious as to what they can get, would be awesome if as a stockholder you could order the actual Super Bowl ring since you are part owner.

That would be very cool. Obviously I couldn't afford one but I'm sure some could. Supposedly they are sending out details to stockholders in the next few days.

Sell your house and car, IMO.
