I think it's kind of fair value...Jose could mentor Irving, Bargs might fit well next to Sideshow Bob.
Then draft Kanter if he drops and Vesley.

Kanter Alabi
Amir Davis
Vesley Kleiza
DD Barbosa
Baron Bayless

I don't really see them taking jose or bargs...jose and irving could not be more different as pg's...irving is much more up tempo...and I really doubt he needs coaching from jose...he spent the better part of last year sitting on the bench and listening to Coach K. Bargs would just clog their front court and Kanter is better anyway..I know they need to unload BD...but they can get better value if they are package the #4th pick.

Has anyone noticed how good marcin gortat played with the suns? I would trade most things on our roster including the 5th pick to get him. His play is especially strong as measured by hollinger's player stats? He is the best case scenario for kanter and he has a great contract

You must be Polish cuz there is no way I give up a top 5 pick (even in this draft) for Gortat.

You gotta be kidding....especially the part of this being Kanter's ceiling.

Dal gets TPE (7.6)
Tor gets Brendan Haywood (7.6)

Clears up cap for resigning Chandler with a hard cap coming and they owe us after Peja and Marion as well as Chandler to some extent. ;)

Det gets Bargnani (9.2) + Alabi (0.8)
Tor gets Hamilton (12.5) + #8

Two players that need a change in scenery.

Monroe/Wilcox/Alabi
Bargnani/Villanueva/Maxiell
Prince/Daye
McGrady/Gordon
Stuckey/Bynum

Min gets Calderon (10.7)
Tor gets Flynn (3.4) + Pekovic (4.5)

Minny is under the cap and can take on the extra salary.

Milicic
Love/Randolph/Tolliver
Beasley/Webster/Hayward
Johnson/Ellington
Rubio/Calderon/Ridnour

Resign Dorsey and Weems
Draft (#5) Walker and (#8) Biyombo
Sign Dwane Casey as coach

Haywood/Pekovic/Biyombo
Davis/Amir/Dorsey
Hamilton/JJohnson/Kleiza
DD/Barbosa/Weems
Bayless/Walker/Flynn

Bayless will get his chance to start next year. Depending on how Walker and Bayless develop, Walker will either be the starting PG or play Barbosa's role as the sixth man. Flynn won't be happy that deep on the bench but would be awesome insurance if neither Bayless nor Walker pan out.

An SF will be targeted in the 2012 draft (Barnes, Gilchrist, Miller, PJones, TJones).

I posted this on Bucks board

What r u guys think of this offer?

Jose Calderon
Leandro Barbosa
Ed Davis

For

Andrew Bogut
John Salmon
Cory Maggette

Calderon and Maggettes contract is pretty washed up but Calderon actually could help more than Maggette and u trade Bogut for Davis(young and upcomming PF - he could be easily top 3 pick in this years draft)/Barbosa(who is expiring) and Tor takes Salmon with TPE

You guys get to save tons of money and still get young upcomming player in Davis and get to keep your draft pick and draft Burks to be ur SG of the future

Your line up

PG:Jennings/Calderon
SG:Burks/Barbosa
SF:Delfino/LRMAM
PF:Davis/Ersan
C:Sanders/Gooden

Raptors
PG:Bayless/Knight? Walker? Freddette??
SG:Derozan/Magette
SF:Salmon/Johnson//Kleiza
PF:Bargnani/A.Johnson
C:Bogut/Alabi

This team could be vastly better defense wise next season and good mix of young and veteran players though I think Magette shuould be bought out just dont think hes gonna be a good role model for young players..

Thoughts?

I would simplify it to just Davis, Kleiza and the #5 for Bogut and delfino.

Jose/Bayless
Demar/Barbosa/Weems?
JJ/Delfino
Bargs/Amir/Evans?
Bogut/Alabi/Dorsey?

Burks fans think they r giving up way too much and you think we r giving up too much? I dont see Raptors will get any better than the lineup above with 1 trade and BC has only 2 years left to prove his doubters wrong..I think thats the best deal we could pull it off but then again, more like Mil wouldnt do it

I think Salmons and Maggette are way too overpriced. Sure, Bogut is pretty solid, and alongside Bargnani could do wonders for this team. However, I still don't see us as getting past the first round of the playoffs.

You must be Polish cuz there is no way I give up a top 5 pick (even in this draft) for Gortat.

You gotta be kidding....especially the part of this being Kanter's ceiling.

So lets deal with facts:

Min 25
Points 10.2
Rebounds 7.9
Blocks 1.1

Among center's he is:
10th in TS%
9th lowest in TO rate
13th in rebound rate (2nd in Defensive rebound rate)
12th in PER, VA and EWA

Played 80 games so he is healthy
makes 6-8 million per through 2014

Also, not Polish and in fact am jewish and the grandson of concentration camp survivors from a camp that was in Poland. So not exactly a big fan of poles.

I disagree. Gortat is easily worth trading 5. He was a 13/10 guy on PHO once he got his minutes. I would take it and run! What, you think Bismack or Valenciunas is better than Gortat? SMH

Do you think this is a fair trade? Andrea Bargnani for Paul George (add pieces to make salary work)?

In a second trade, we should target a defensive young big man such as Larry Sanders.

We really need to have a typical lineup of a defensive Center/PF and scoring PG/SG/SF.

Potential lineup for the future:

PG - Kemba Walker
SG - Demar Derozan
SF - Paul George
PF - Ed Davis
C - Larry Sanders

Bench: Bayless, J. Johnson, A. Johnson, Alabi, etc

The guard/wing position will control the offensive and our big will provide the defense.

Trade with Atlanta, works in the trade checker:

Bargs and Caldy for Pachulia, Teague and Heinrich

PG: Teague, JB
SG: DD, Heinrich
SF: JJ,Kleiza
PF: Ed, Amir
C: Pachulia, ?

If we can't grab Knight, and aren't sold on Leonard or Veasly...I might consider something like this.

TPE + Jose + Alabi

for Flynn + Beasley

draft Kanter/Val/Bismack with either the 5th or a trade down pick.

Roll with

Bayless/Flynn
Derozan/Barbosa
Beasley/JJ
Ed/Amir
Bargs/Kanter,Val, or Bismack

some crazy athletes and talent on that roster...Beasley has attitude...but I think he is worth the gamble...way more than a player like JR Smith

Jose+Alabi will definitely not get you Beasley+Flynn.

If we were to acquire Beasley I'd need Bargnani gone because there's no way I'm running those two out on the court at the same time unless I have a Mike D'Antoni epiphany.

Agreed, those two on the court at the same time would subject us to too many deficiencies defensively. I wouldn't be opposed to trading Bargs in a deal where we get Beasley (they have very similar stats, albeit at different positions), but I'm not sure if that's something Minny would be interested in.

I would be ok with trading our pick for Beasley IF they had another good piece they could add to the deal, but I don't think such a deal exists (perhaps Flynn+Beasley, but then that's somewhat 'meh' and I think I'd prefer Wes Johnson+Flynn more than that deal)

We should make a run for Paul George or Dorrell Wright
5 of either of them + first round pick and grab a C

Return to Toronto Raptors
