Wizards Board Draft Pick Contest - Congrats to DAT2U!

Post#1 » by pineappleheadindc » Sun Jun 19, 2011 6:39 pm

.

It's on. The 2011 RealGM Wizards Board Draft Contest.

This is your opportunity to exhibit your smarts to everyone and, for an entire year, hold board bragging rights as the king (or queen, if cdouglas participates) of the draft.

Rules:

1. Submit your picks using the template at the bottom of this post.

2. All of your picks must be in and finalized and time-stamped by 5 p.m., EST on Thursday, June 23, 2011. To try and make sure we don't fall into any timestamp confusion, I'll try to post a buzzer at deadline so you can compare the time of that post with anyone else's edits, etc. But up until the deadline, feel free to edit your choices as much as you want.

3. For every one you get correct between picks 1-6, you'll be awarded 2 points. For every pick you get correct between 7-12, you'll be awarded 2.5 points. For every pick you get correct between 13-18, you'll be awarded 3 points. Being correct for #34 gives you 5 points.

4. In the tiebreaker area, you'll pick the first buzzword that you think Ernie Grunfeld will utter during his first interview with, or carried by, Comcast Sportsnet. You can only pick from my choices of buzzwords.

5. Winner gets total bragging rights. To make it more interesting, Donkey, JWiz, Swami, Fish, and really - everybody - gets to create and jump in a thread to dog, by name and personal character, the poor soul who takes last place. And they'll be able to do so at the loser in any way except posting of porn/NSFW photos or anything that runs afoul of copywrite laws. Everything else is fair game for the loser.

Good luck everyone.

bismark biyombo is probably a steal at 17. Would suck for us if we went there. If he his on the board at 15, we should try to trade up and get him

If the Wizards draft ends up this you might hear my shouts of joy all the way from Hawaii, pine. :)

Just flat give Blatche away. Trade Seraphin for a small. I'd be happy as I don't know what with this.

NBTW - just a heads up, right now I have the exact same top 10. Part wishful thinking (Kanter), part rumor/speculation, but I'd like to see it play out that way. Just didn't want you to think I was poaching when I submit my list ;-) I'll change #11-18, just to keep it interesting....

Ha, yeah that top 10 is loaded with homerism and wishful thinking. I don't know if I'll have the guts to stick with that top 6, but its certainly what I'm hoping for.

And CCJ, I saw Ron Thompson last night had Leonard/Faried/J.Williams as our 3 picks. Definitely not Kanter as we both hope, but would I still be able to hear your shouts of joy in the 757?

Probably shouldn't say anything, seeing that this is a competition, but NBTW, are you posting a trade between GSW and NYK?......because you have NY selecting in GSW slot.

Make that homerism, wishful thinking, and poor use of copy/paste (originally I had Klay at 17)...

No wonder Sev only had the same top 10, and not top 11,

Pine,

Just to be clear, do you have to get the player in the right slot and the team that selects them correct to earn points or just the right player for each draft slot?

Need to know if I need to project a trade for Minny.

I think he's going hard-core with correct team AND player. Personally, I feel we should get half a point if we get the right player in the right slot, but it's a different team via trade in that slot.
