Spo and staff is fired.

Adelman is hired with Phil and Sloan being his assistants. Then we have a celebration party with those 3. Spo is offered a spot as video coordinator and all is set right.

According to IRA

Yes, Pat Riley is meeting with the media Tuesday morning. No, there is no announcement, just an update on the state of the team. Now exhale.

*pat riley stands at podium with black shades on*

"im back"

*spoelstra taped and mouth gagged inside of a dunk tank is wheeled onto the court.*

Riley - "have fun sporon" throws ball at dunk tank hitting the bullseye with clemens like accuracy.

I'd settle for just those 8 words.

Well it's already said there is no announcement to make so what ever, nothing to get excited over.

given the fact Riles was so silent throughout the entire playoff run I actually am excited and intrigued to hear him talk about what transpired in the playoffs, the criticism this team has recieved and what types of moves are to come.

I'm not expecting much out of this. Probably a season evaluation ending in him saying it was a success, talk a bit about the media scrutiny, and give Spo props. :-?

Dream scenario -

"Erik has decided to step away from basketball, and spend more time with his family."

Come on Pat Riley, make it happen!

There's nothing to announce, Riley will keep faith in Spoelstra.

See thread title; get excited as ****.

See 400+ views / 11 replies; become disappoint. (knowing that what we all wanted has probably already been shut down)

Pat Riley stresses Spoelstra will coach, Big Three will remain

Addressing his team at length for the first time since before training camp, Miami Heat President Pat Riley discusses his role, Erik Spoelstra and what he sees next for the Big Three, particularly LeBron James.

Of a possible return to coaching, Riley, 66, said, "No, I'm not going to do that."

He paused, adding, "It doesn't mean I don't have the fire. But we've got a great young coach here."

"I don't think you win championships with young, athletic players that don't have experience," Riley said.

Yay more old unathletic stiffs that can't even make a layup or hit a jumpshot.

--Of needing an upgrade at point guard, Riley said, "Mario Chalmers is a starting point guard for us. He's going to get better."

Double yay. A point guard just to shoot 3s and Wade and Lebron just gonna continue to pound out the ball.

Well I guess we not gonna get a guard in this draft.

Did you really think he doesn't support Spoelstra? Riley hopefully will get to address personnel flaws of the roster this summer which is the fundamental problem this season. Please get us a center that can catch and finish when James and Wade get doubled.

also said we're not buying into the first round... and said that you don't win championships with young athletic inexperienced players (rajon rondo, perkins anyone?) so i guess we can also look forward to having juwan howard back in the rotation in the playoffs next year!!!

but geez don't mean to be a downer but there really is some kinda otherworldy arrogance in this organization top down, not that we can blame Riley, he got dem credentials.. but he would never stop to see if he needs to revise any of his methods, but mainly would never concede Spo's flaws and i wonder if he even ever questions any of Spo's decisions. And he won't look outside of his way of thinking about not wanting to get younger? (which seems strange to me because from now on we have little means of adding talent to this roster, what are we gonna do? pick up a michael finley and jerry stackhouse every damn season) and this trickles down to Spo and his hardheadedness with the way he treats our young players and the way he thinks the big 3 are so magical that the "offense will take care of itself."

And then there's the default attitude of our team where we need a constant reminder that teams actually want to beat us in order for us to play our style the right way. We find it difficult to find motivation otherwise, especially when we have a lead where we start play like we won the game already lol. all this stuff feeds off of eachother to me. maybe i'm just spewing a lot of psychobabble but i actually kinda think there is something to this, definitely still fuming about the spurts of constant nonchalantness in the NBA FINALS and i need some reasoning.

EDIT** had to go back and clean up the post a lil, was just kinda throwing thoughts out there on the fly and it was hard to read when i looked back hahah

You are correct.

This organization is arrogant for no damn reason. It's borderline delusional. It doesn't even dominate enough to warrant being so arrogant. Not like the Heat was blowing out the competition all season.

Welcome to the Big 3 playing 38 plus minutes again and having to carry a bunch of old worthless players.

Welcome to seeing the heat signing a bunch of old guys to play every year.

Pat Riley needs to wake up and realize this isn't 2005 and signing a bunch old vets and having your stars carry the burden every night not how you win in 2011 and beyond.

If he do draft somebody they probably won't even play next year.

Riley got a good eye for talent, but he sure can't develop anybody to build around.
