This offseason is going to get very interesting, especially starting this week at the draft. Depending on what we would be giving up (and if we could get rid of Outlaw), Josh Smith would be a very interesting pickup.

His attitude is a huge question mark, but from a talent standpoint he's exactly what we need. If he could mature a little bit and model his game after Marion, he could be an elite supporting player. Stop taking 3's, play great defense, and collect garbage points above the rim.

The Atlanta Hawks have started to gauge trade interest on forward Josh Smith(notes), and Smith isn’t averse to ending his seven-year stay with his hometown team, league sources told Yahoo! Sports on Monday.

Smith hasn’t requested a trade, but has privately told league friends that the Boston Celtics, New Jersey Nets, Houston Rockets and Orlando Magic are his preferred destinations should the Hawks decide to move him.

“The relationship has run its course,” said a league source with knowledge of the dynamic.

Outlaw, Petro, 2011 first for Josh Smith. Get it done Billy.

If King gets that done, I'll start a very uncomfortable bromance with him.

As it stands, we're low on assets and the ones we have (Deron, Brook, Morrow), I don't want to give up for Smith.

we need to somehow get rid of Outlaw, a pick or 2, and maybe another player like James or Morrow for Josh Smith. Williams to Smith can be a nice duo for a while.

This just proves what many of us have been saying. We're not even in Brooklyn yet and people are already wanting to play for us. No one is looking at our record. They just want to play with D-Will in Brooklyn. If we make a deal tonight for Smith, it would need to be one including an extend and trade with Hump, and probably Farmar, the 27th, and 36th pick. Give Hump that $7mil per season contract plus a backup PG in Farmar to replace Hinrich, although I'm sure other teams could offer a lot more.

They're not taking trash for Smith. You definitely need to do some sort of extend and trade with Hump to even get them to pick up the phone and also to give us enough cap space to for a possible Dwight addition next year.

But I will say this though. If BK is able to get Josh Smith and if there's enough cap space, I guarantee D12 would be next in line unless he wins a 'ship next year in Orlando. They're best buds and he'd get a to play with D-Will.

D-Will, J-Smoove, sign and trade Lopez for a good wing, and sign Howard. BOOM Championship lol

The thing is we have zero information for what exactly is going on behind the scenes between GM's/Players/Agents.

For all we know (yes im going overboard) DWill couldve talked to Howard about joining the Nets and been told, if you pick up my buddy J Smith, I'll sign as a free agent.

I'm just trying to show that we are obviously just speculating but if I was DWill I'd find out exactly what it takes to get Howard to the Nets and relay that onto Billy King. Also to be honest it has shocked me slightly how Williams did do a sort of turnaround after his sit down meetings with Billy King and came out and said he's very excited for the future.

If I was a betting man I would say Deron Williams knows something in regard big moves were going to be making and hence his ease at staying with the Nets.

A team with Williams, Smith and Howard is a contender and I would obviously love it to happen but as things stand we really don't have jack to offer ATL without including Lopez which won't happen because he is our Howard trade pawn.

Remember that Smith and Howard are best buds so if we did sign Smith and kept enough cap in 2012 for Howard to sign as a free agent... then id be excited

But lets be realistic unless there's a wink wink going on here it's basically move along nothing to see here.

All of the teams he wants to go to can't give Atlanta a good offer. I have a feeling that whoever he goes to is going to get a good deal. IMO Any deal we make is going to revolve around Hump and 2 draft picks. Which every ATL fan is going hate on, but still might be their best offer from those 4 teams.

But, Josh Smith played the best basketball I've seen him play in this years playoffs. He looked like ATL's best player. Hoping we make it happen.

You know why Williams had a turn around right? He talked to BK and Proky and they told him who they are going after, how serious they are about doing it, and how he'll be the face of the franchise. D-Will said has said that in several interviews.
