I do NOT want another bricklayer drafted at 9. I love defense, but if we keep fielding a team that chucks it on O, I'm gonna blow.
Singleton is not my favorite, but he does have an improving offensive game to go with his great D, so he wouldn't upset me. I'd like to trade back to get an extra pick or trade up to get Kanter (or Wiliams if Minny is frisky enough to do that without giving up our 19th pick). Still love Brooks and Vucevic and hope they are wearing our colors Friday.
I was with you...until you started talking about Singleton. All your complaints about Leonard are fair. However to say that about Leonard and then go to Singleton and harp on his "improving' offensive game and great D is a bit unfair. Lets not forget that Leonard has the better offensive game hands down and still has a lot of room to improve. Lets also not forget that Leonard is arguably the better defender of the two. If your going to not like Leonard because of a limited (so to speak) offensive game and because he is a defense first player, then don't double back and say you would be okay with Singleton. Now if you want to talk specifically about shooting, then yes SIngleton has the advantage. However Singleton's 3 point shots all come from the corner while Leonard has more of an ability to hit from anywhere. Anyway, I guess long story short is that Leonard is rightly so rated higher of the two. And really if you don't like one because of defense then you shouldn't like the other either. Both are defense first forwards. I do agree with you though that I would like to see offense at this pick over defense, but if Leonard is sitting there at 9 he holds too much value to be overly upset at picking him.
Singleton's offense > Kwahi's IMHO. I also think Singleton can play/defend multiple positions better and has a higher Bball IQ.
I'm somewhat intrigued by Tobias Harris, I've heard of him compared to Glen Rice so that definitely made my ears perk up. He'd be a nice consolation SF if Singleton, Leonard, Hamilton, Klay, Marcus Morris, etc are all off the board by #19. Still young with lots of upside.
