To be clear, I'm not excusing Blatche's season as anything less than disappointing and poor but I am for being patient with his maturity.

pancakes3 wrote:well if you want to make the argument that blatche has holes in his game, don't use my bit of social commentary as the tackling dummy. i was merely pointing out that we shouldn't be looking to run him out of town at all costs like some trade proposers are doing - trading him for someone like Brad Miller for instance. I didn't even know Miller was still in the league.

however, i will chip in this: we're bad defensively, but we're not 1980's run and gun bad. blatche is bad, but he's not really letting defenders through like a breeze through a screen door either (eye test). I think blatche and mcgee overall has the potential to be a half-decent frontcourt actually. if i may put on my CCJ hat for a second, if we could get JV to play PF defensively and AB to lock down C's and do so intelligently? I don't see why our oppefg% wouldn't lower and our rebounds wouldn't climb.

McGee is about as fast and as long as big men get. Physically he can show and recover on pick and rolls as well as anyone in the league It's just that he has no idea what or why he has to show on pnrs. he also has no idea how to keep his head on a swivel, keep his arms up, or locate his man by "feel" rather than by sight. AB on the other hand knows how to do these things, he's just slow footed. he can go toe to toe with an ancient KG but as for the crazy fast PF's out there? the Amare's, Bosh's, and Durant's... or the crafty PF's like Dirk, Marion, and Odom? i'd rather let JV and his go-go gadget arms flail around and let AB's "steadfastness" (read: slowness) plod in the low low post.

If they did switch up defensive assignments, practiced hard, and sneak JV some ginko biloba into his protein shakes? we've got a really decent frontcourt imo.

Juwan Howard about 15 years ago was the same kind of player for Washington that Andray is today.

Howard could score, pass, and rebound adequately. He shot a little better than Andray does. Andray's bigger and able to play more C. Comparing them each in their prime, where the two guys are very similar is neither has much run and jump athleticism but both are highly skilled. They can dribble, pass, shoot, rebound and each has both back to the basket moves and a face up game.

Thinking back on Howard's days and how they ended in Washington, I remember the Webber trade exposed Juwan's lack of athleticism. Like pancakes3 said above, Howard looked like a plodder, even after signing that deal that paid him more than Webber, and around the same as KG and Shaq. :o

Eventually, MJ's coach Gar Heard came in and played guys like Micheal "Animal' Smith, Aaron Williams, and a guy I thought was a good player, Gerard King, ahead of Howard. (Kind of reminds me of what Kuester did to Hamilton in Detroit). Eventually, Howard got traded to Dallas (miracle trade by MJ IMO). I digress. What I noticed back then is that THE COACH'S STYLE dictated which PF would be effective.

Heard didn't like Howard. Likewise, I doubt very seriously another coach would enable Blatche the way Flip does.

I think the Wizards might be better already just running with McGee and Booker at PF.

THE DIRTY ARMY: Nik, NBA Player Andray Blatche for the Wizards slipped up and got a groupie pregnant a Miami wanna be Video H*e named Angel is preggers right now with his baby. They never had a relationship they were just messing around…. she had a a ghetto fab baby shower. (pic of her in wicker chair and tiara crown). Angel is a wanna be video ho in miami… she is a known groupie on MIA club scene… she finally landed her a monthly check from a baller who has a 30 million dollar contract…. she goes around telling everybody who will listen badmouthing him and how she is gonna get famous and get on basketball wives. They never had a relationship just slept together… but here is what made it worst… Angel made a fake twitter account @espnbitch and was harassing andray from calling him names.. basically harassing him …..IP address was tracked from the page and it was her the whole time harassing him online. His close friends said she did it for revenge …… its very bad situation for him.. he usually is with pretty kinda classy girls but he slipped up BIG TIme… the girl angel is really ghetto…. she is looking for a free ride … she talks about p*ssy and all types of craziness..and this is going to be someone mother …horrible…. she has a child already by someone else. He needs to hit up dwight howard and find out how dwight shut up royce.. cause coming from sources close to angel is plotting bigtime to get andray back for payback cause he doesn’t want her. He will finacially support but its embrassing for him. She always tweets about getting revenge and then erases it ….. I feel bad for the guy ..he is def gonna get clowned for slipping up and getting this one pregnant..when will bball players learn to leave video chicks alone!

It sucks for Andray Blatche… he is stuck with this monster for 18 years.- nik

I still think it's hilarious how many people on this board think that Blatche can somehow reverse his trend of poor judgement, and effort.

6 years of evidence, and it just keeps mounting and mounting.

Blind optimism is all we had for decades. If you take that from us, Hermit, all we have let is a sharp new owner and franchise point guard.

Hmmm. On second thought, screw you blind optimism!

LOL, you really think Blatche is the only professional athlete to impregnate a groupie? Personally I could give a rats ass what Blatche does on his own time. As long as it's not illegal.

Right because such things have never happened to Zack Randolph this year or Ron Artest last year or.....

Maybe having to pay his babby mommas bills every month will make him work harder so his next contract is bigger.

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

Unbelievable that Blatche fell for the classic honey trap, this kind of shyt is what they warn rookies about on Day-1 of rookie orientation. Only a Zach Randolph type of transformation will make Andray tradeable.

You just named one player widely considered to be a little on the crazy side, and another who took four teams to settle in, and may yet have some crazy left in him.

If that was supposed to be an encouraging argument about Blatche's potential maturity, wisdom, and consistency as a player, maybe you should rethink your strategy. ;)

Yeah, I may have felt this way at some point, but not anymore. I feel like the right to avoid certain types of scrutiny is earned and lost. Blatche has repeatedly brought negative attention on himself and the organization -- Snatchgate, benching himself, brawling outside da club, lapdance Tuesdays, etc. In and of themselves do they hurt the team? Not really. But they're eblematic of a kid that clearly doesn't get it. At some point all this foolishness together with mediocre production tell the story of a kid who just can't focus on doing his job and helping his team -- which is why so many of us want to move on.

Zach stepped up this year, especially during the playoffs. No doubt.

But by the same token, do you think his ex-teams were kicking themselves because they didn;t hold on to him? The Blazers, Clippers and Knicks have Aldridge, Griffin and Amare as their PF's, respectively. It's not like they got rid of Randolph and were never able to recover or replace his production. I'm sure all those front offices thought "if he had played like with when he was with us, he'd still be here," but I don't think any of them are sorry for moving on.

With all our young assets, cap flexibility and future picks, we're going to have plenty of opportunity to replace Andray Blatche -- probably with someone more productive. The 2012 draft is loaded with PF prospects.

+1

I dated a girl when I was in the military who, right before I got orders to go overseas, she became pregnant. Just paid the last month of 18 years of child support. (Lessons learned have been many).

I won't judge Andray from on high. I won't judge the lady, either. I will agree with Dat and say that I'm concerned about his basketball.
