In the "basketball world" Turkey is definitely in Europe. They play in European Championships, their teams play in Euroleague. Actually Euroleague's official name is Turkish Airlines Euroleague. Same is true for Russian players.
And this board is probably not the place to discuss whether "culturally" they are European or they belong to EU (which means nothing since Norway is not in EU, too).

Re: Is Turkey in Europe?
I thought Turkey was in the EU.
Ooops.
I always think of Turkey as Middle Eastern, but, Westernized, or at least modern.
And you're all telling me Asian? Hmm. I need to go back to my Geography class.

One must be careful when applying the borders of international sports administration. For example, you'd be hard pressed to find an Australian-born convinced that he's an Asian. Unfortunately, it's quite the opposite. On both sides, it appears.
For the OP.

Re: Is Turkey in Europe?
Why, does Turkey have a long history of "equisite" tastes for the dining table? Or is this a recent development, I am having a horrible flashback of James Bond's movie Octopus. The worse thing I ever ate was chicken brains, prepared by some 'cough' chef. But I've also been at some lau's in hawaii and had boiled pig blood, I think I got sick that night. I eat anything though, but my tastes aren't equisite, I'd rather have dog food than chicken brains.
