Bulls Rumor Thread - Only Bulls!

The rumor thread Ralph made has a lot of both Bulls and general NBA rumors in it. So in order to separate the two, we have decided to make this specific Bulls Rumor Thread.

So.. Go nuts!

EDIT: you might want to skip pages 8 through 11, which devolved into a heated argument about the current validity of one person's inside info. Not a pretty sight, believe you me. I still have bruises.

Rumors mean nothing if Gar says they are keeping both picks. :roll:

^ Again, does anyone really think Gar is going to straight-up say that we are trading the pick. Do you really think that he isn't talking to teams and if the right deal came along he wouldn't make it.

Trading picks 28 and 30 will not get you a player or even high enough in the draft to get what is needed most in this draft. If he is refusing to trade 1 of the 2 players outside of his core 4 who have any trade value then yes Gar is being straight up. On Thurs the Bulls will have 2 guaranteed contracts on low level players who will not see any action because one will be the 5th big and the other the 5 guard.

I wouldn't trade Asik or Gibson for Mayo either - not with some viable alternatives available in FA.

Gar is not honest to a fault, he will fudge, and that's a good thing.

Rumor has it that the Bulls FO is frozen in a perpetual state of non-growth due to player fondness, greed, conservatism, and other icky stuff.

Would you really trade a 1st rounder and Asik or Taj for Mayo. I wouldn't.

Could it be that we don't want to deal Gibson and Asik for marginal upgrades in order to keep them around for when Boozer and Noah are traded for a major upgrade?

It really is maddening that we seem to value our 4th big over a starting shooting guard. I'm sorry but your 10 mpg backup center is not going to win you any titles. Go look at the 4th big of all the title winning teams for the past 10 years. Who was the 4th big on the Mavs? Oh that's right, Cardinal/Mahimni. Not exactly an all-star if you know what I mean. Sooner or later the starting frontcourt is gonna have to start pulling their weight. These guys should be playing at the end of the game considering how much they're getting paid.

Asik was a rookie last year bro. I would expect to see him get more then 10 minutes in the future.

Mayo isn't even a starting shooting guard on the team he's already on man! It's not like they're saying "No we won't trade Taj or Asik for D Wade".

Cardinal did what none of our bigs could do for some reason. Foul the Heat HARD. Kurt Thomas would have but he never saw the floor. I think if we would have disrupted them more like in the regular season we would have had a much better chance to win.

The Bulls seriously can't expect to improve their SG situation if they continuously refuse to give up their only logical trade assets in Taj and Omer. J.R Smith isn't even a sure thing come FA. He may get more than the MLE elsewhere or god forbid, the MLE might even be gone. I would really like to see the Bulls go all out in these next few days to find their starting SG via trade. It would be a disaster to go into next season with Keith Bogans as our starting SG.
