Trailblazers3Wallace, i never said thats who i wanted the Cats to select, but your argument doesnt really hold water to me either....... other than Najera's hustle and heart, DJW & Eddie bring NAN to the hardwood. If Marcus Morris was the pick he totally jumps them on the depth chart!....... So let me get this staright, You want a guy to fill a hole w/ the 9th pick (Singleton) but he cant create his own shot, and the offense cant be ran thru him either b/c he's sketch w/ the rock passing & dribbling. I will give him his stingy defense & he will help on the boards but how does that help us right now? I know D wins championships but we gotta win games first Bro! Are you a Larry Brown guy........ Dj over Brook Lopez? Did u sign co-sign for that? I dont care who we take as long as that individual has a scorers mentality AND CAN SCORE like a Burks or Brooks. At least we're on the same page about the big guy at 19

Re: Bobcats Picks Discussion (#9, #19, #39)
Spending some time catching up on the prospects today. Not very excited about the Morris Bros. Klay Thompson and Alec Burks are both appealing. Think I would prefer Tristian Thompson or Chris Singleton over Marcus Morris.
I think I'd be okay with Vucevic at 19, not as much Reggie Jackson. Faried seems like a safe role playing big, so that's okay by me if we don't get a big in the lotto.
I imagine we'll go with whoever is available that's safest, though.

Re: Bobcats Picks Discussion (#9, #19, #39)
Hmm, I'm watching some game footage right now of Klay and I'm telling you right now there's no way he's playing SF at the NBA level. His game reminds me a lot of Kyle Korver's actually, except he's a bit smaller. Finishes at the basket better though. He can flat out shoot though, deep range, can shoot off the dribble. You can tell he's used to double teams b/c he can draw defenders and find the open man.
I don't think he's really worth #9, he'd be a need-based pick rather than a BPA pick.
Also saw some Tobias Harris. Interesting kid. I think he'll struggle at the NBA level b/c he's too short to play PF but too slow to play SF. Savvy player though, has an old school game. I don't know why but he reminded me of Josh Smith except without the hops, so in other words he doesn't excite me much. I'm not even sure he's worth #19 frankly. Supposedly he's dropped some weight so maybe he's quicker but I think he's locked to go late 1st round.

so tomorrow we have:

jujuan johnson
bismack biyombo

wow.
does that pretty much insinuate that we are not interested in a sg at 9?

Some have suggested Jordan Hamilton may be more of a SG than SF...but that is yet to be seen. I would be very interested to see how Jujuan Johnson does against Bismack Biyombo. Chris Singleton against Jordan Hamilton would also be interesting.

Diaw picked up his Player Option today. Surprising as I did not think he would before the Draft for fear he gets sent someone he does not like. My hunch is that the team is entertaining an offer and they told him and his agent and they like the destination. Dont really think it makes sense for him to Opt In before the Draft otherwise.

I like all the guys were bringing in. Singleton, Morris, Smack, Ham all would be decent/good at 9. Im just hoping we get lucky and dont take any of them because Kawhi drops to 9!

9 million dollars does wonders. I didn't think it was ever a question of him opting in. There is no way he could get anything close to 9 million in free agency so of course he is going to take that 9 million for one more year and then after take that smaller deal. I'm also not sure Diaw is the type of player to really give a crap about where he is...I mean have you watched the guy? haha he has not a single care in the world. I'm not going to read into it that much...i think this was a long time coming.

I think Klay might have a harder time than most adjusting to the physicality of the NBA game. He's a dead eye shooter though. I think 9 is a bit too high for him.
I'm starting to settle on Jordan Hamilton, but I don't think he'll be there at 19. Is 9 too high for him? The only thing about him is i'm not sure if he has the motor that other guys do and the desire to max his potential.
I like Tristan, but he seems like Tyrus without a jumper.
I think the twins will be solid in there own right. But neither appeal to me at 19, let alone 9.
At 19 I like Brooks, Hamilton, and Vucevic. I have a feeling someone will fall to us at 9, be it Kemba or Vesely. With our 2nd rounder I wouldn't mind a guy like Nolan Smith or Norris Cole, but they'll be long gone.

Re: Bobcats Picks Discussion (#9, #19, #39)
Observation from Hoopsworld article by Tommy Beer:
I don't know if htis is his opinion or an informed pronouncement via NBA scouts, but it passes the smell test. If our front office agrees, do you take any one of those players if they fall to 9?
I'm trying to channel my inner Cho....Hhhmmmmm....
Would he dare to make a trade? I think Cho will try...
Most likely option: The trade with Houston (9 for 14 & 23) to aquire an extra pick. This happens if none of our upper targets are on the board at 9, and Houston needs to jump over Utah and Milwaukee. We can take the best player left among those we like anyway (probably Singleton but I'd prefer Vucevic to beat Philly to him), and still grab a SG and SF.
Possible option: Trade the 9 and Tyrus to the Cavs for the 4th pick and draft Kanter (assuming Utah doesn't snatch him at 3rd). I think the Cav's prefer Valanciunas to Kanter, and might wait a year for him, but if they think other teams will pass on him till 9, they might prefer a deal that gets them an extra impact player AND Jonas.
Least likely option: Trade up to #2, dealing the 9 and Jax to Minny, and drafting Williams. Would love to do this and use Diaw, but that's not happening
. I'd also swap Tyrus or Hendo and 9 to grab Williams.
There are essentially eight players that effectively separated themselves from the pack at this point: Kyrie Irving, Derrick Williams, Enes Kanter, Brandon Knight, Kawhi Leonard, Jonas Valanciunas, Jan Vesely, and Kemba Walker. Not matter which mock draft you consult, most everyone agrees each of these youngsters will be off the board within the first 10 picks. After that, it's more or less a crapshoot.

One thing that I am certain of is that Charlotte will be making some type of trade Thursday night. Most likely envolving Diaw's expiring contract. This would explain our interest in Twin 1.

This draft is certainly crazy. I kind of wish I could fast forward two days of my life. The worst thing is we don't have a clue what our front office is up to.
The last woorkout - good news I guess. But I can't tell interest from smokescreen anymore. I expect a lot of trades once Utah is on the clock.

I'm pretty sure Tristan Thompson will be a bust. There's an unwritten rule that the NBA can only have one good Canadian player so best case scenario Thompson will have a chance when Steve Nash retires.

i can't help reading your comments in the voice of your avatar, so let me translate it for yuks.
I'm pretty sure Trinity Thompson will be a bust or whatever because he's bein' a ****' dick. Seems like everybody's always telling me that the MBA can only have one good Canadian player so best cast ontario Thompson will get really drunk and smoke a lot of dope and kick ass when Steve Mash retires. **** Leahy.

We knew he would opt for it. Question is why did he before the Draft? We could not have traded him before, but now we can. I think the FO has told he and his agent something which made him Opt in before. Just a hunch, but no other reason for him to do so just a couple days before the Draft.

Re: Bobcats Picks Discussion (#9, #19, #39)
Really curious to hear tomorrow how Biyombo does against some of the others we are considering. If he blows up on Defense and shows some reasonable offense around the rim, I can see Cho and company trying to move back a few spots from #9 to try and pick up anothe pick and take him at the end of the lottery. I think the Houston #14 and #23 for #9 would be ideally suited for such a plan. Biyombo would fall to #14, grab him there, and then have #19 and #23. Not saying I would love it, but if they are impressed by him enough, yes, I can see it being done. Especially if he is man handling Tristan, Twin #1 and the like.
