Report: Cavaliers shopping J.J. Hickson, too

Hansbrough is smart and he's gonna get better. He was pretty slipshod as a team defender but as soon as his effort gets funneled correctly from overly incessant boxing out to sound decision-making, he'll be at least average, and I think he can be good. Remember, he's never had a full offseason and his rookie year was basically a do-over.

That's how I see too.

Hansbrough is a better player than Hickson now and I like him better long term.

Well, that's simply incorrect about Hansbrough being a better player than Hickson right now. Maybe that only has to do with the fact that Hickson has more NBA experience than Tyler and that he's further ahead of the curve, but right now, Hickson is a superior player to Hansbrough.

Don't get me wrong, I'd like to ADD Hickson to Hansbrough. I think between those two, you've got a great PF rotation for the long haul, especially with Roy Hibbert.

Not saying I wouldn't like add Hickson too. No getting around his superior rebounding numbers to Hansbrough. They are both experiencing growing pains as defenders although I think Hansbrough is further along in this phase. Do you think Hickson is a better offensive player? Have to admit Hickson had some monster games. Statistically he's achieved more offensively than Hansbroug so you got me on that point. Still I wouldn't move Hansbrough for him though. Not all value is measured statistically and I think Hansbrough brings some unique intangible qualities that the Pacers need. Cop out? Maybe. Me being a fan of Tyler's style of play and over estimating his value? Probably. FWIW, I didn't think that much of him in college. It wasn't until I had a chance to see him regularly that I developed an appreciation for his game.

What do u guys see Brandon Rush's ceiling as? I honestly am kinda intrigued by the one posters offer of Rush+15 for Hickson, Cleveland has ZERO SG, and also was rumored to want Marshon Brooks around pick 15...that would be instant young depth at the 2 spot, and would thin out our PF rotation, leaving Samuels, Jamison and Varejao to man the 4 spot.

Not much better than what he is now, but what he is now, most people don't really realize, if that makes sense.

He's a great wing defender and good 3 shooter, but most people don't know that because most don't know much about Indy and Rush doesn't play as much anymore.

Hickson's a little bit more productive than I realized. Granted, his offense is inflated due to post-LeBron Cleveland being an embarrassment, but he's a very strong rebounder. I'd do Rush & #15 for him.
