Knicks Attempting To Trade Up For Fredette

The Knicks are one of a handful of teams attempting to trade up in Thursday's NBA Draft.

New York is hoping to jump ahead of the Jazz, who own the 12th overall selection, with the intention of drafting Jimmer Fredette.

The above doesn't make sense on a number of levels.

1) If the Kings started selling picks for quick cash you can bet they'd get a quick call from Stern.

2) A Quick infusion of cash doesn't seem to make much sense now that all of their debts have been pretty much settled and defined.

3) By virtue of being the first (and only I believe) Israeli born player in the NBA Casspi brings in a good sized amount of cash all by himself. Hard to understand why the Kings would dump that for what amounts to cash (seeing as how Douglas would see little playing time as the 3rd string PG).

I read that article as well my guess in fairness would be the Kings trade the 7th pick + Casspi & say BENO for Douglas ,cash & the Knicks pick or the 7th & Casspi for Douglas , the KNICKS pick this year & the KNICKS 2012 1st round pick .

Just my random fast thoughts not saying I believe any of it would happen for sure .

I do expect Beno & or Garcia to get dealt this season and at least 1 of them before the season & possibly before or during the draft .

The Rockets own the Knicks 2012 1st round pick.

It says "picks", not the number 7 pick. Bet you anything that means #35, #60, or future picks.

Casspi for Douglas really isn't that bad of a deal IMO. Get Beno out of here, add Douglas, draft one of Vesely or Leonard, and this team is looking pretty well balanced moving forward.

i dont mind getting quality players and douglas is a nice player! the thing that bothers me is if the maloofs sell things low for cash or do any decisions based on money... just let petrie handle things out and tell the maloofs that you only have 2% say for these stuffs

If the Kings are going to trade the pick, I'd much rather they trade out of the first round entirely rather than trading down lower in the round, and so I'd want to involve a 3rd team because I don't see Sacramento getting what they'd need to trade out of the first round with that they'd get from NYK.

Would be nice.
But, they only do that if they could get a regular-bench PG.

As happy as I am with the team staying in Sac this year if the Maloofs make all transactions about getting money out of the deal etc. not to mention not get anything truly good as far as picks , trades , basically real value then it just tells me that the Maloofs have no realistic intentions on keeping the Kings in SAC no matter what & that its their intention they will try to move the team reguardless of whatever happens between now & march 1st .

I hope thats not the case I would love to keep a 1st round pick this year & aquire a 2nd 2012 1st round draft pick . Would love to aquire the Clippers 2012 1st round pick via Minny's pick .

Sure i suppose. Not for the 7th pick though. Felton isn't much better than Beno.

Id rather draft K. Walker than send our pick to NY. Then when the CBA is resolved send Dally to NY in a S&T for Landry, 2012 1st protected

Return to Sacramento Kings
