Re: Hibbert to Minny for #2 Pick
I want Brooks. I don't like Vesely, but you probably have to take him at 15. At the least he's a trade piece. I just don't buy into him being a Kirilenko and I don't think he can play the 4. I like Valanciunas, just don't see him falling that far. I think Cleveland trades down to 6 and takes him. They don't need him to come over right away. They aren't winning anytime soon.

Re: Hibbert to Minny for #2 Pick
I have always been a fan of Klay Thompson. Some people have him going earlier, but he seems to be one of those players like Danny Granger in that he is a boring type of player. Does the little things, hits his jumpers, not overly athletic, just a typical boring 12 to 15 ppg kinda of guy. I believe this would be the right move as he can surplant Rush and Jones by the end of the year (we don't have to sign next year) and be that nice rotational player that Indy needs to hit their jump shots in the late 3rd and early 4th quarters.

Re: Hibbert to Minny for #2 Pick
My fear is that Hibbert will finally be paired with a good set of power forwards and blossom. I'm with Old Rem on this, he believes Hibbert is better than any big in this draft, therefore he is worth more than any of the picks in the upcoming draft. One thing is for sure in regards to Roy, he is ahead of Rik Smits on timelines. Personally, I'd consider it if we had another center lined up (Nene, Okafor, DJordan), and if we didn't add the 15th, here is why.
I know Cleveland was interested in acquiring the 8th from Detroit, so they could package the 4th and 8th for the 2nd.
Imagine turning the 2nd into the 4th and 8th, then Drafting say Kanter @ 4, and Vesley or Kemba @ 8. Then @ 15 either Bismack, b.p.a., or trade down for multiple picks.
Just throwing it out there, that I could live with it if Hibbert returned Kanter and Walker.

Apparently Minnesota just offered the #2 for Bynum.
Kahn's looking desperate. This pretty much proves he's been throwing all these deals out there. He won't ever get another management job.

I think you make this trade if you think Williams is a unique stud player which I think he might be. We don't have room for three more young guys. We could never find the minutes for them to develop.
I"m not sure the Pacers need more players. They need anther high quality player or two.

If Bird feels like he can get another center in free agency like Gasol, Chandler, or Nene; then maybe it makes some sense. There's no question D Williams has a tremendous amount of upside. Hibberts a very likable player, but there are issues with confidence, athleticism, and strength that probably will prevent him from becoming a truly elite player.

Re: Hibbert to Minny for #2 Pick
A couple of quotes from Morway and Carr that could affect our depth at center:
As the Pacers lock in on Thursday's draft, Barac is something of a wild card. He's coming off a breakthrough season with Caja Laboral Baskonia (Spain), taking giant strides in his NBA readiness. The Pacers have a potential dearth of capable bodies in the frontcourt as Jeff Foster, Josh McRoberts and Solomon Jones all are free agents.
"Certainly whenever the market opens, I think it's a conversation we're going to entertain and discuss not only with him but his team over in Spain," said General Manager David Morway. "No question about it, he's ready to come over to the NBA. He had a very good year. He's one of the better big men in Europe.
"He's a skilled (center), he's 7-foot-2, he can shoot the ball or score on the block and he knows how to play. It's going to take a period of adjustment but he certainly can become a quality backup in this league and hopefully more."
"There has to be timing between us and their team coming to an agreement and a time where Stanko feels like he's ready to come," Carr said. "I think he's a good player. I think he could add something to our team and I'd like to see him here but at the same time there are a lot of factors that have to come together."

This could be like when the Celtics were offering up Rondo for Stuckey. We could be talking about a motivational ploy.

If we're drafting Williams, we're trading Granger. If we're trading Hibbert, we better be drafting Kanter.

Re: Hibbert to Minny for #2 Pick
First off, I guess Minn has to wait for Irving to be picked #1 before they trade the 2.
And I would trade Hibbert for the #2 in A SECOND!! Derrick Williams?! He could be a stud! Maybe he won't be that great, but Hibbert isn't going to lead us to the finals. If Williams pans out then we would be 1 piece (probably a large piece, but still a piece) away from being a real contender. I would not say no AT ALL and I don't know how we could say no.
P.S. I love you Hibbert, but I love the Pacers more. Hey, how bout McBob for the #2 instead?

I'm guessing that 1 piece would be a solid center?

Uhhh yeah, why wouldn't Dwight Howard want to come here?
But seriously someone like Nene or Tyson Chandler, I don't know. And then get a really good PG is Lance contiues to by Lance or maybe, although extremely doubtful, Paul George? Larry can figure something something.
If the move is possible and we don't pull it and Roy sucks we lose a roll player (in 85% likelyhood). With Williams we have, in my opinion over a 50% chance of getting a really good player. If he doesn't work out, though, we probably won't lose much in the long run anyways.

this was painful to read/translate. What? I'm not trolling. Instead i'm seriously wondering what you were trying to say.

So, if we trade Roy for Derrick Williams, and Williams "doesn't work out", you think that "we probably won't lose much in the long run anyways"? What? How?
If we essentially just give Roy away for someone who doesn't work out here, I think we're looking at wasting 3-4 years of Derrick Williams, and then setting ourselves up for another 2-4 year rebuild. That's pretty serious to me.
Even if you don't like Roy and think we need to move him, we need to capitalize and hit a home run with any deal. We're not a good enough team to just waste solid, tradable pieces.
