Spurs Shopping Tony Parker....

Post#1 » by dgolo00 » Wed Jun 22, 2011 3:25 pm

It's been reported that the Spurs are shopping Tony Parker and want to unload Richard Jefferson's contract to get a lottery pick. The Cavs are shopping their 4th pick.
Cleveland needs to draft Williams with the 1st pick and get a deal done with San Antonio ASAP. Getting Parker with Williams will make them an immediate playoff team.

Cavs send: 4th pick, Sessions, & Jamison
Spurs send: Parker & Jefferson

So Cleveland wants to pair a 29 year old PG with a 32 year old PG? I think Cleveland easily passes on the proposed deal. If they were to take Williams at #1, they would be better off taking Knight at #4 anyway.
Well at least we're not Detroit!

What about trading first with the wizards giving them the 4th for the 6th and 18th which some people have hinted the wizards would do....then trade the 18th the trade exception, Sessions and Jamison for parker and Jefferson and draft Valaciunas at 6th? Don't know if Spurs would do that at 18 but maybe with the money and not having to trade any of their picks...

T. Parker/Davis
Jefferson/A. Parker
D Williams/Graham
Hickson
AV/ Valaciunas(next year)

Trade #1 along wid Baron davis for Pau Gasol. Better than buying him out then helping James get a ring

A couple of years ago Cleveland would be all over this. But right now the Cavs are better off getting a young PG in the draft then Parker. While he may be good for maybe one or two years we won't be competing then.

There is no logic to the Cavs trading for Parker

How come every time some fringe all star is available some fool comes to this board and tries to steal the #4?

Why does a new thread need to be made when EVERY player that we will never get and do NOT need hits the market!?
