Donny Mo reportedly hates basketball. That completely rules him out IMO. Leonsis is trying to build a new culture here. He won't be adding any lazy malcontents.

If Kanter isn't dropping to #6 (and I don't know that he's not, but it's looking increasingly unlikely), it'd be great if Blatche and #6 (and maybe #34) could move Wizards up to get Kanter, and still leave them with #18.

I didnt know he was as athletic as he is, he even had some plays where he put the ball on the floor by using his pump fake and finished with contact several times. I think if he falls to 18 and Faried and Morris are gone than I wouldn't mind taking him if he is the shooter that he is reported to be. He doesn't rebound well but he could be useful in the pick and pop game like Yi was supposed to be and his motor is also very high. Im in the KL/ Tristan Thompson camp at 6 though assuming we don't get Kanter. No to Vesely. Yes to Valuncias if we can get another 1st rd pick through trade back or trading Blatche. Have a look for yourselves...

That would be nice. Honestly, anything that nets us something positive where Blatche is part of the outgoing makes me a happy camper.
No, I'm not one of the people that overlooks the fact that, statistically, he's a decent, borderline good basketball player, but I also don't understate that he's not the kind of player you win with. Either he's a reasonably substantial part of your team, using a high number of possessions (inefficiently) or he's a really expensive, sulking role player. Give me the option of "neither." Getting something of value for him is a bonus, IMHO.

When's the last time a player like McGee (thin shotblocker without even 3rd option-level offense, average to somewhat above-average rebounding, and off-the-charts athleticism) won a title as a major piece, even without the immaturity of McGee?
Guys like Camby and Chandler haven't won even at their best. The Spurs and Celtics won titles with not a run&jump athulete among the bunch.
I think Biyombo's skillset is closer to championship-level, because he projects an elite rebounder who has a really good defensive IQ, even though he also projects to be a self-check on O (though McGee isn't much better, sure he's efficient and has a high ORTG, but that's because of his low usage).

Any idea who we're targeting at #34? We could draft Selby for a backup 1/2. He's a local kid who could be pretty good.

I thought it was fittingly ironic how he named Chandler specifically.

And it's far too soon to worry about the logjam at center with Kanter and Mcgee. How many rookie centers play more than 20-24 minutes a game? By the time Kanter is a bonafide starting caliber center, Mcgee will be capable of PF duties on D. Either that, or one of them will be used as trade bait for a star-caliber player. Having two good centers is a good thing.
This, and it should be obvious.

DX just updated their mock to have Kahn drafting Kanter @ 2.
http://www.draftexpress.com/nba-mock-draft/2011/
I still gotta think that's misinformation. Kanter + Love seems to be a bad fit (although MEM made a similar lineup work for a stretch, that seems to be the exception to the rule).

One things for certain though, Kahn seems to not really care about players fitting. It wouldn't really surprise me if they went with whoever thought was the best player and worry about roster fit later.

Yeah, I derped there. Though let me explain a bit further.
Tyson Chandler is a completely different player from the player he was even with CP3. He's not a run&jump athlete anymore, he plays on a sort of plodding team Jason Kidd running the point. He uses his length and savvy to make defensive plays. Tyson Chandler is a great player, but that is NOT because of his athleticism.
Chandler is most LIKELY a smarter player than McGee will ever be, especially considering McGee's seeming aversion to becoming a more cerebral player as opposed to being able to put up better highlights (even his weight training reminds me more of TO exercising in front of his house during his holdout).

No chance. Its not like Kahn just randomly stockpiles players at the same position or anything....um, er, nevermind. Vesely here we come!

If Chandler doesn't work for you, Dennis Rodman comes to mind...

Tyson Chandler was a terrible, soft, bust for his first many years in the league. Javale McGee is light years ahead of where Chandler was after 3 seasons.

I don't buy the Kanter @ #2 at all. David Kahn is no genius and he's telling every source he can that he's taking Kanter.
Given that it's known that Washington wants Kanter, it's obviously another effort to try to convince EG to give up McGee in a trade. Thankfully, EG is smarter than that.
I'm more worried about Kanter going #3 than I am him going #2. Bad smokescreen.
