2011 NBA Draft Thread - June 23, 5PM MST.

The Utah Jazz have been irrelevant since mid April. It's been a long two months, but once again, our Utah Jazz are relevant again, if only for a few minutes!

With the #3 and #12 picks, Utah is set to fill in some pretty big gaps in their roster. Even if it's a weak draft, there's going to be a couple of diamonds in the rough. Hopefully Utah strikes gold.

See you guys tomorrow at five.

I wish Kanter was taller and more of a shot blocker. He makes Jefferson expendable in a year or 2.
Wall of Washington has been pushing Wash to move up to get Kanter. Apparently, they have played at least pick up games at Kentucky together so thats a very good sign that Wall thinks so highly of him.

We pick Kanter and Jimmer than at least we get 2 players that want to play for the Jazz and not players (like Harris) who tolerate playing with the Jazz.
Top 4 seed in the West!!! Guaranteed!!!

Well if the WT is right, and the Wolves are really pursuing Kanter with the #2 pick, we are set. :-)

Wait, which article talks about this? Not that any article has any credibility ever, but I still wanna read it.

Several sources say Minny is floating they will take Kanter (check Chad Ford and DX). DX even changed their mock to reflect. Neither are sure they believe it and think that Minny might be floating the rumor to see if they get better trade offers than what they were getting for Williams at #2.

Twitter reports that Minny is apparently telling people they're picking up Kanter at 2.

On one hand, it's Twitter. Not very reliable.

On the other, it's Minnesota. Kahn.

So really, I won't be surprised either way.

After wasting away in New Jersey, I get the impression Harris is pretty happy here. It's a rebuild, but not a wasteland.

Im calling smokescreen on the Kahn to take Kanter rumors, if the TWolves dont want Derrick Williams they would be crazy to not find a team who does and trade him. I do buy the Kanter to Jazz rumors though, I would much rather have Kanter/Jimmer then Knight/Singleton. Utah could trade Al Jefferson then for Iggy, if the 76ers are shopping him as much as rumored, and have a really nice team.

Harris/Jimmer
Bell/Miles
Iggy/Hayward
Millsap/Favors
Kanter/Okur

Why is Bell starting over Hayward in that scenario, my friend?

He is 6'11, has a 33" vertical leap, and a 7'2" wingspan. He's 19 years old too. He has all the tools to become a shot blocker and a good defender. He's already a good shooter and doesn't avoid contact, but he has some mechanical issues and techniques he still has to correct/learn.

Haha actually a Bulls fan, you guys would know best. I just think a Jefferson for Iggy trade would make sense for both teams. And also, some people say you guys have so many bigs, so why take Kanter there, but the way I look at it is what team doesn't need bigs? It's not like it will be hard to trade them imo

It's Millsap on the block. It's all about buy low sell high. Al is better than Paul. Paul has more value. SELL

Agreed. Especially if it's the Jazz goal to start Favors (which it should be).

Ah! That explains it. You haven't been around for our Raja Rage Sessions.

That's not a bad swap. I'm somewhat inclined to keep Jefferson, in part because I like that his, Millsap's, and Harris' contracts will all expire at the same time, putting us in a good situation in free agency. But I think that trade is fair value.

so any info on who utah is planning to take with the #3? just wondering what will be left for as at #4. Are they leaning towards Knight or Kanter in your opinions?
