Bynum and Ebanks for the #2, Beasley, Flynn and Milicic and we'd be insane to say no.

Whats up all these threads around Lakers boards talking about trading Gasol, Odom etc.

This team doesnt need to be blown up. It needs improvement in guard/perimeter play........ie guards who can create their own shot.

Bynum Gasol and Odom are going to get all the PT at the 4 and 5.

Bryant is going to get a major chunk of the time at the 2.

That leaves the 1 and 3 spots to make improvement. Artest is good enough defensively that you can sort of over look how bad hes been offensively. That leaves the 1 as the spot that should be focused on improving.

Sign a PG and move Fisher to the bench. Sign a small forward shooter and or playmaker off the bench as a back up 3 and call it a season. I write that not knowing who exactly those players are or how the Lakers are going to sign them lol

You're all ignoring the point. Buss' son wants a steady income. Interests have changed. This is his money-maker and Odom-Gasol are not productive enough for him at 18m to 34m a year cost-wise. Odom or Gasol will likely be moved. They'll really on Caracter to try to pick up the slack (lol). They've done this before.

Wild guess on my part is that Odom is moved for a late lotto pick and we draft Morris plus perhaps get another pick for a PG.

It's all about the money.

Sounds like LA offered Lamar for the 2, Minny countered with Bynum for the 2. The obvious middle ground is Pau. Would the Lakers offer it or would Minny take it? Because he's 31, I think the Lakers offer it, but Minny says no. If LA wants the 2 they must cough up Bynum. Understandably they won't do that, so no deal.

Nah I think Minny would move at the last second on 2 for Gasol. Can they absorb Pau's entire salary? Kobe would be **** pissed as hell.

I would consider that trade. They won't.

Kobe has 3 years left on his contract... Who do you think is going to do more for this team over the next 3 seasons, Pau or 'No. 2'?

People think we're desperate... Pau is still at least the second most skilled big in the league behind Dirk and is younger... He had a bad few games... It happens. His stock hasn't fallen that far.

Watch: After this over-hyped draft and as the season gets under way, the teams with picks 1-5 would be falling all over themselves to trade their rookie for Pau.

The middle ground is not Pau for 'No. 2'... It would be Pau for 'No. 2' and Love... If not, the Lakers walk... Faster than the Wolves.

We offer LO for No. 2 and Beas...
We offer Pau for No. 2 and Love...

And Minni can GTFO as far as Bynum is concerned.

No. 2 is a nice player for us probably off the bench... Most likely not the answer to our PG problems as a rookie...

We don't need the deal that much. PG prospects aren't that hard to find.

The answer to that is "no one knows", however it is also a bit irrelevant as we'd be using the #2 as a trade chip to land Dwight, CP3 or Deron Williams.

People think we're desperate...

Honestly I don't think any NBA GM thinks we're desperate .. ignorant fans might but not the GM'S ... they know what's up.

Pau is still at least the second most skilled big in the league behind Dirk and is younger...

Hhahahaha, that's funny.

He had a bad few games... It happens. His stock hasn't fallen that far.

100% true.

Watch: After this over-hyped draft and as the season gets under way, the teams with picks 1-5 would be falling all over themselves to trade their rookie for Pau.

Um, not gonna happen ... there is more to trading for Pau than his talent level ... his contract is a killer for a young rebuilding team.

The middle ground is not Pau for 'No. 2'... It would be Pau for 'No. 2' and Love... If not, the Lakers walk... Faster than the Wolves.

Pau isn't worth Love straight up due to the age and contract, don't be silly.

We offer LO for No. 2 and Beas...

If we offer L.O., Ebanks and $3mil cash for the #2 and Beasley the Wolves might do that and we would be stupid to turn it down.

We offer Pau for No. 2 and Love...

This was a decent post but overvaluing Pau so greatly makes you sound like a goof. We would do Pau for Love straight up in a heartbeat. The Wolves wouldn't.

And Minni can GTFO as far as Bynum is concerned.

Oh stop the madness, Bynum is the one big we need to be moving at all costs ... we cannot put ourselves in the position to hope and pray his knees hold up each year.

No. 2 is a nice player for us probably off the bench... Most likely not the answer to our PG problems as a rookie...

Hmm, maybe, maybe not ... Kemba wouold be a bad, bad man for us right out of the gate.

We don't need the deal that much. PG prospects aren't that hard to find.

This is the smartest thing you've said so far. We certainly do not "need" to deal for the #2 pick and the fact is there could very easily be a 2nd round PG that ends up being better than many of the 1st rounders ... it wouldn't shock me if a Mack turned into Mark Jackson and a guy like Irving flames out completely.

It's really annoying honestly with Bynum. I'm not as high on him as others are. He plays half the year and half of that team doesn't fit with the roster of the roster. The fascination is mind-boggling.

It seems like we are really shopping odom ... apparently we offered him to the Wolves for the #2 pick straight up and they turned us down ... and we apparently have an offer on the table of Odom for Iggy.

I don't understand why we are determined to trade our most talented, multi-dimensional, well-liked and cheap big when we could easily get a ton in return for an injury prone Bynum or an extremely expensive Pau????????????

It does seem that way sorta, but again Odom for the #2 is a no-brainer and if the Spurs can dump RJ and get a top pick they'd be happy to let Parker go ... George Hill is a very capable starter anyhow.

Lol, you can offer those packages all you want, but neither deal gets you anything but laughter on the other end of the phone. You're basically agreeing with me, though. Sure, you're overrating your own players to a ridiculous degree, but we're BOTH saying that the two teams aren't going to be able to find a deal that works for both of them involving the 2 pick and there will be no trade here.

Return to Los Angeles Lakers
