Thankfully, there's nothing to the Odom rumor. Too bad the trade to #2 is unlikely. The trade up rumor does absolutely nothing for me. Essentially, a move up of 6 spots in a salary dump of Iguodala, Speights, and the loss of the #16 pick. Great. Based on this, I hope the decent chance at the end comes true. Thank you for the info though SF, as awful as it sounds.

Thanks, SF. Definitely happy the Laker trade is fake, but that Milwaukee deal is brutal. It gives us cap flexibility in 2013, but Maggette is a big drop from Iggy, there isn't really room for Ilya to get minutes on this roster, and if we're moving up to #10 to take Vucevic, this would just seem like a waste of Iggy's talent. I maybe do this trade if someone really talented drops (Valanciunas, Leonard, etc.), but not to take a guy who is projected to go in the mid-teens.

Can somebody explain to me why we are targeting cap flexibility on 2013? Guys like CP3, Deron, Marc Gasol, Nene, D12 and Gerald Wallace are going to be FA in 2012 and not 2013.

Just stand pat fellas. Outside of the rumor for the #2 pick, which appears to be unlikely, everything has gotten worse since the initial rumors. The latest ones from LA and Milwaukee are literally awful, which is why they are only (hopefully) rumors. If this is what Iguodala can net you right now, just keep him and try again over the summer (assuming there is a season) or at the deadline next February. You know, it's possible that Iguodala has a very good year next year after having an entire off-season to rest instead of playing Olympic ball. Moving up from #16 to #10 for spare parts and including two assets in Iguodala and Speights is just insane.

So we went from looking at Monta Ellis, a prolific scorer with clutch play for Iggy...to an expiring and Aminu for Iggy...to an expiring smaller deal, one deal that coincides with Brand, and a young guy for Iggy, oh and with jumping 6 picks up, just to take the same guy we are targeting at #16...

Oh YEA! And our #1 priority of trading Iggy has a decent chance of no longer happening at all.

WTF is wrong with our front office?? Seems to me nothing changes with this organization. Nothing radical is ever done. Even the Elton Brand signing was a move that wasn't intended to vault the Sixers into the Finals anytime soon. The bland drafting of Turner when they could've done otherwise. They are just so BLAH as an organization I'm bored and tired of it.

If they don't get some new life and soon, I'm going to fall off the NBA wagon completely. I won't become a fan of another team because my loyalty is to the Sixers, but damn this is ridiculous.

A lot of teams will feel more comfortable making a trade after the draft is over and the new CBA is in place. That way they know the rules to live/budget by and whether they were able to fill holes on their roster in the draft or not. Lots of guys have been rumored to be getting shopped all over the place, Iggy, Ellis, J. Smith, etc, yet we have not seen any real moves yet around the league.

As a GM I can understand being a bit gunshy about pulling the trigger on a trade when the entire set of rules you operate under may be very different before you can finish making roster decisions for the summer.

I'm not sure I see the fascination with Vucavic. He'd be fine to pick at 16, but spending assets and moving up to take him makes no sense, although it seems like a lot of teams became enamored with him after his workouts. They must think he can be a quality starting center in the league. The development of a skilled plodder like Marc Gasol may put bigs like Vucavic more in fashion I suppose.

The Milwaukee deal is nowhere near as horrific as the Laker deal, but you hope for me. I actually like Ilyasova as a rotation piece and since the deal shaves $23 million in salary committment, the question is who do you think will be there at No. 10. It probably won't happen, but it would be outstanding if Valuncianus fell due to his contract issue. I guess I could live with Vucevic if it came down to it, even if Biyombo could have more game changing ability with our style of play.

I'm still holding a candle of hope that someone in Golden State's front office hits their head between now and tonight.

It doesn't mean that because it is a rumored deal, they are automatically considering it. I think they are just doing this (letting everyone know about it) so that the other teams would upgrade their offers for Iguodala.

Highest bidder win.

so everyone would be just happy to stand pat and relive 2010-2011? This team for it to get better has to have cap flexability and an influx of new talent. A better draft pick and a future FA is what this team needs. Keeping a 15m dollar wing man that gets you 14 points is not the recipe for winning.

Not bad, it gives us a scorer and gives us some flexability in 2013. This team needs change for it to get better. UNload the big contracts and draft youth and then when ready sign a player that is WORTHY OF THE MONEY !!!!!!!!

+1

Just stay at 16, he will be there. If you trade up to get him and dump Iguodala for that Bucks trash in the process, I will flip.

I actually think Maggette would have a good couple years under Collins, but he would undoubtedly be a downgrade. Giving up the #16 pick AND Speights is killer. Maybe I'd do it if we weren't giving up #16. We could draft best big available at #10 and maybe Alec Burks or Donatas at #16.

with that bucks trade, if we have to give up speights, I would like larry sanders back. Getting Sanders and his defensive potential would make it much more worth it if were giving up speights and #16 to me.

If the Bucks deal goes down,I would not select Vucevic at 10 because I think he would still be there at 16. On the other hand if we pass on Markieff Morris at 10, Phoenix could gobble up Morris at 13. Morris would make a nice replacement for Brand when Elton's contract expires. In the meantime Markieff would be our PF off the bench joining Lou and Thad. Markieff can also step out and play the 3 with his 3 point touch. Markieff is a safe pick

That being said, I'd rather just keep Iggy, at least for the time being, if this is all we can get for him.
