Unfortunately, I'm hearing very similar things about the probability of Vucevic being their guy. I hope my sources are wrong.

Listened to your radio show this morning. Good stuff. But it makes you wonder what on earth they see in Vucevic that isn't already on the roster in Hawes. Would be nice if "Vucevic was a smokescreen!

houston has a real chance at taking vucevic at 14...if that happens...unless some other name drops...i think the pick will be markieff morris. but they like vucevic over morris.

What about Moti? They don't think he'd fall to them?

I would definitely NOT want either the Odom or Maggette/Ilyasova deal.

Odom is a head case and would probably just mail it in on us next year and then leave. Plus adding Walton in the trade makes me want to throw up.

Going from No. 16 to No. 10 is not enough to trade Iggy/Speights for Maggette/Ilyasova. Maggetts is 31 and only averaged 12 pts/gm on an offensively-starved team. Ilyasova is a nice bench player but that's it.

Unless the Sixers can get the No. 2 pick from Minny for, say, Beasley, Webster and Tolliver, I think the Sixers should keep Iggy and just pick the best available at No. 16.

Unless they get an enticing deal to get a mid-lottery pick for cheap.

Bucks deal would be nowhere near as bad as the laker deal as stated but still pretty poor return. If we could get no10 and take maggettee without giving up no16 than I would be happy. We could package 10 and 16 to move up or select 2 rotational bigs. As long as we keep a plan for 2013 cap space and get some type of decent young talent in return I will be happy.

I'm still on board for the LAC deal or GS deal.

Hope another team comes into play later this evening before the draft and offers a decent package for Iggy. The main thing I want to see is simple: Jrue/ET/Scorer/Defensive big/Scoring Big

Is it that hard??? LOL

Last year, Portland was said to be willing to offer a #1 pick and D. Cunningham for Speights. Has that much changed since February that they would not be able to still extract that #1 pick in the 20's? If so, why would you essentially "throw him in" to any deal with Milwaukee.

I realize that there are some that wonder why Philly would even consider standing pat and I get that, but isn't making a bad or stupid deal even worse? Iguodala is not the type that will probably bitch publicly about not being traded and it's not as though the Sixers will not have other chances to move him before the season starts. Right now however, the deals sound so awful, it just doesn't seem worth it.

The trade talks between the Los Angeles Lakers and Philadelphia 76ers, first reported by SI.com, have traction for one simple reason: The exchange of Lamar Odom(notes) and Andre Iguodala(notes) could provide immense benefits to both teams.

The proposed deal – Iguodala for Odom and Luke Walton(notes) – would give the Lakers an elite wing defender for their championship chase. New head coach Mike Brown wants more athleticism in a younger player to pair with Kobe Bryant(notes) and Ron Artest(notes) to defend the likes of James, Dwyane Wade(notes) and Kevin Durant(notes).

One source involved in the talks said that Sixers coach Doug Collins “thinks Odom can play the [center] like [Mike] Krzyzewski had Odom doing in the world championships.”

Nevertheless, no deal was imminent, and the advanced and complicated sales talks make it harder for Sixers president Rod Thorn to pull off such a major trade, sources said.

I'm not doing any of these deal. They are all bad.

Clippers not giving enough
Lakers deal just not making all that much sense as a whole
Bucks would make sense if we got Bismack or Val...but if we don't is just for salary
Warriors...well you know, Thank God we didn't do that deal

So just hold onto him when you don't feel like (And other teams don't feel like) you have a deadline to trade him.

I bet dougie still wakes up in cold sweats thinking about all of the guards driving the lane and getting and 1's or uncontested layups thanks to Spencer Hawes

I guess the main reason I don't want to hold onto him is that we aren't getting immediately better or worse. If we got immediately better, I'd be happy to see a team compete for the East with Miami, even losing 3 yrs in a row to Miami in the East Finals is better than what we currently have. Or if we got worse, fell out of the playoff hunt and were able to stockpile lottery picks over the next 2-3 years, it would make the team exciting and lead to a bright future.

To stay the same with the same players is pointless IMO. And if Iggy wants out, let it be. Trade him and either get better or worse (which makes you better in the future). And if you're going to be a 1st round playoff exit either way, then at least get a flashy player that I'll enjoy watching like Iverson was.

Why can't we be a 1st Round exit with our youth? Instead of MJ JR?

Or Hawes fading away while having 6'2 PGs on him in the post.

Note how no immense benfits for the Sixers are actually mentioned other than the ridiculous notion of Odom being our full time center. This is an LA floated, completely one sided rumor and being perpetuated by LA media sources.

Our only realistic chances of improving are:
1) Creating cap room, and acquiring a superstar via FA/Trade in 2013
2) Sucking bad enough next year, that we get lucky and land a franchise player via draft
3) Evan Turner turns into Brandon Roy, but with knee's, next year

If the situation with Iguodala is as bad as it seems behind closed doors, getting something that free's up money and adding a potential decent young player is about as good as your gonna get imo... and the longer you wait, i think the lower the offers will become.

Best case scenario: we move Iguodala,Turner explodes onto the scene with a bigger role next year and we free up cap space for 2013 where we can hopefully pull off a move to bring in a superstar to make us relevant again.

Worst case scenario: we move Iguodala, suck balls and land a top 5 pick next year, where we can hopefully add a potential stud.
