Trade Rumor: Utah trades up to get DWil 2.0

I like the idea as long as we don't give Harris up. If we trade Milsap, that helps alleviate logjam at PF. Anyone worried we're going to be left with no pg at the end of the night? I want to see Devin Harris play. I know he's not our typical pg, but I've seen him play good in the past.

NBAdraft.net is hands down the most unreliable source for these things. Not knocking you for posting it, just contributing due skepticism.

Anyway, I'd be OK trading Harris in this trade as long as we're sure we can get a PG at 12...Johnny Flynn just doesn't cut it on his own for me.

Can we promise and commit right here and now not to call Derrick Williams DWill 2.0 or any close variation of that. I never liked calling Deron Dwill and calling Andre I AI 2.0 bugged me too.

complicated deal but do whatever gets Williams to Utah. So if 2nd part of deal goes through then Utah has pick 2 and 6 but lose Millsap and Harris. Jazz draft Williams and Knight/Jimmer/Walker (lets say miracle happens and Knight gets past Toronto. Jazz lineup:

PG Flynn Knight Price
SG Hayward Miles Price
C Jefferson Memo Fess Elson
PF Favors Memo Evans Elson
SF Williams Miles

An extremely young team that will have alot of ups and downs but lots of talent. I like it alot but we might have the wrong coach for this group. A veteran coach like Larry Brown would be a better fit than inexperienced Ty Corbin. In any case, I like it and it would be fun to watch.

Yes on both counts. I really don't understand why people on the board think Flynn is a good player. Was it because he had that one really good game against the Jazz a couple years ago? Because honestly that may have been his best game as a pro.

I didn't see anything in the rumor that stipulates that Jazz get the 6th pick, in fact it says Minnesota. Of course we get the 2nd pick in this scenario...no mention of which players will definitely be included...it doesn't say our 12th pick is part of the deal...

Hard to say how this would fall together.

Yes, that is DWill finishing with a two handed oop.

This is a move in the right direction. Why pay Harris and Milsap higher salries when they have no supporting cast.

Since Minnesota wants to trade down the #6 pick also, then maybe the Jazz can snag #2 and #6 by including both Harris and Milsap and #3.

That being said, Washington doesn't get to move from #6 to #3 for free! What else are they throwing in?

Article says than Minn would try to trade down further for a veteran like Harris plus a pick (like Jazz pick at 12)

Larry Brown might just be the worst coach imaginable for such a young team. I'm somewhat skeptical about Williams's ability to play the three and, thus, I wouldn't necessarily be over the moon about trading up to get him like I was when we got Deron (or D-Will 1.0, if you want to take that route, which I agree is a bit on the lame side), but I certainly wouldn't be opposed to ending up with the player who quite a few people think is the best in the draft.

"And Minnesota would move back and dump salary or add veterans such as Paul Millsap.

Minnesota might not be done at that as there is speculation that they would trade 6 to either move down again or add more established veterans.

The deal would likley involve established players. Some names that have been mentioned: Jonny Flynn and Devin Harris."

This is the actual quote and I don't see anything that CLEARLY stipulates our 12th pick is involved or who precisely is involved. I think the last sentence is made as a "P.S."...or should be in ()

washington invites staff members from czech republic embassy to their draft party. might mean that washington is staying at 6
