from a marketing perspective this is just an insane pick. The last thing Colangelo needs to align himself with is another play that reminds people of bargnani. We have a logjam of skinny bigs, for some unknown reason. What we are really missing is a quarterback, and Colangelo failed to see that yet again. I am so done with this team.

Agreed. Don't forget he challenges a lot of shots, something the Raptors need in a rim protector.

Keep sucking that Colangelo Coolaid! 2 more years and hopefully the euro experiment will finally come to an end and we can be a real NBA franchise again.

The only saving grace is I know absolutely nothing about this guy. At least with Biyombo, there were tons of reasons he could be a bust. I don't like that Colangelo grabbed this guy without so much as a workout. But that doesn't mean he'll suck. Could mean Ed and Bargnani will be fighting each other for minutes though. Hopefully he plays next season.

the valanciunas pick guarantees one thing:

this board has a new player to debate over the next 3 years.

Not all Euros are the same. He's a guy who could be very similar to Jo Noah a few years down the road.

So are the Biyombo and Knight lovers have asthma attacks over BC's selection? BC made a great pick, for once let's all applaud him on doing his job.

wow shocking pick I was confident BC was gonna draft Knight or Walker (if Jazz draft Knight, Cavs draft Kanter). From the vids I watch, this kid has ALOT of work to do in order to develop into a good NBA player but we might very well be rewarded later on. He definitely needs another year or 2 (hes only 19!). I personally would like to see BC pick Knight but now we know hes confident in Bayless running the point. Overall, i'm 50/50 about his choice.

At Draftexpress, Jonas's best case scenario is Andre Biedrins meet Noah while worst case is Omer Asik, who many of you have wanted from the bulls. Whats not to like?

Colangelo has a responsibility to do his job to the best of his abilities, he shouldn't be thinking about what (Please Use More Appropriate Word) 14 year olds think about his pick

Val is nothing like Bargs. Think of him as our version of Joakim Noah.

Some people's ignorance is astounding. Jonas is a solid, solid, pick. He may end up being the best player in this draft down the road.

Why people want someone like Knight, a back up PG who has the worst a/t ratio I've ever seen in my life and can't go left, not that quick etc. I used to like him but I wised up.

For me the options were Val/Knight, so I'm happy.

Another year of the tank coming up!

I think the Noah-like comparisons are pretty apt. We're going to like this pick in a few years time.

Now it's time to trade Bargnani to make room.
