I wanted Biyombo, but I'm cool with Valanciunas too; I just didn't want a pg (more specifically Knight). Let's see how he progresses. I hope he'll be a good one!

I've vented frustration with Colangelo loving Euro/International players a few times before, but I don't mind this pick at all. I haven't seen much, but from everything I've heard about him, he's a fairly big guy who plays defense. He doesn't shoot 3s, he isn't that soft. If that's the case, who cares if he's from Lithuania. I like Val a bit more than Knight, and certainly more than Biyombo.
Good Lord, the little stoner's got a point.

Yep. It's going to be a handful to keep Ed Davis and Jonas Valaciunas off the offensive glass.
Basketball is like poetry in motion, cross the guy to the left, take him back to the right, he's fallin back, then just J right in his face. Then you look at him and say, "What?" - Jesus Shuttlesworth

If the Spurs wanted him badly, you know he's good. The Spurs are kings at drafting talent.

Plus he might stay another year from what I hear. Another year to tank for the stacked 2012 draft :D.

This is going to be fun. Half the board posting celebration gifs, the other half threatening to rage quit the Raptors.

What could possibly go wrong???

Welcome to the homer club! I knew you'd make it one day. It's been a long hard road.

Nothing homeristic about it, I just don't see a far superior player available on the board. And I'd still love to see Colangelo fired tonight.

I was making a joke about it being almost a positive comment. Don't worry, no one thinks you're actually a homer.

Excellent pick in all honesty. Sets up perfectly for next year's draft when the draft is deep. We can get a SF we need in Barnes, Jones, McAdoo. Plenty of talent next year. Or we can get a guard in Rivers or the Canadian Myck Kabongo. Next years draft is going to be nasty. Great pick in Jonas to continue the tank.

If he was an American from the NCAA he'd go #1 in this draft. One of biggest wingspans in the NBA, biggest hands in the draft, 90% FT at the C position, he can run, catch, huge rebound percentage. He has a little hook shot and unbelievable fundamentals (he keeps the ball up at all times). What is there not to like?

if ed and val develop the way people hope, they're going to be a top rebounding duo in the league. who's not happy about that...
